Movie 8
Audio 8.5
Movie 6.5

Picture quality was pretty good for a TS movie was dark so picture is gonna be dark but still v.watchable.

audio imho was very very good listened on 5.1 system and was impressed. bass on the sub was great fight scenes sounded A1.

movie was better than expected if your looking for a throw away
movie this is great if your looking for deep and meaningful dont
bother.

Hmmm

Well ......

I'd Give the video a 7 - 1/2.. it was a bit dark and a bit grainy.

Audio is very good - 8 and a half

Movie ... 6 not as good as a ithought i mean how lame .. the women teaming up with the preditors.

Is this filmed In France or canada . ? people speak french and english in canada if i am not mistaken...
I suspect france becuase in bourne supremecy . it was rusian yet with french subs (i wish they had english )

would it be possible for A rls group to make eng subs for those parts if they know the french ?

Thanxs

I will agree that this is by FAR the best copy but the people in the screen just TOTALLY ruined it for me!

imo

I honestly didnt notice the head moving about so it cant be that bad,

7/9/6

i just wonder, where you guys seen the french sub in this movie ?
i personaly didn't see any except a name ... or its just to complain ?

Certain amount of graininess but like it's been said, the movie itself is dark so the ts will be. There was still detail even in the darkest scenes. Video 8

The audio was excellent, 9

The movie itself was great, I enjoyed it immensely, 9.

vcd contains errors, WMP doesn't jump forward/backward, returning errors. had to convert to mpeg2, de-multiplex the whole thing and then re-multiplex it properly. In fact, it was so broken, TMPGEnc wasn't even able to de-multiplex it properly, had to use Mpgtx. The groups will never learn They think testing in Windvd is enough.

And about the maven logo video at the beginning of the movie: it's the stupidest and most infantile thing I've ever witnessed. The whole release should be nuked for this shit.

Video - 8. It's pretty good, not grainy at all.
Audio - 8. A little low volume, but apart from that it's ok, not hollow
Movie itself - 6. The first 3/4 of the movie is incredibly boring, only in the end it starts to get interesting. I esp. liked the very ending (what happens right before the credits). I won't say what happens, see for yourself if you haven't yet.

All the actors apart from Henrikson suck big time. And the scenery is cheap, they must have shot the whole movie in some abandoned factory complex or something.

The computer effects are ok, but nothing special (the special effects are not so special lol ).

This is not a movie to be watched at the cinema, it's something for the video stores, to rent when you are bored. It's just too trashy. But then again, I'd say it's better than the Alien:Resurrection bullshit movie which sucked sucked sucked.

8/8/6

P.S. how comes the words on screen are always in french in Maven releases? So weird. All characters speak english, but everything that is written on screen is in french

Watch Alien 3, you'll find the alien takes on the traits of the dog (slight looks, movement etc..)

I like the way the film ties a lot up a few niggly queries from the first Alien film

I am guessing they film the film from France/Canada and the audio comes from somewhere else, and with a few touchups and some work, they get it sync'd, and a good rel

Because that is where there source is, and they are not just an english scene release group. If you watch the intro movie on there releases it makes it more than obvious that they release in more than one language.

I'm also having probs with cd1, burned it and it locked up halfway thru, extracted the mpegs and put them on disk to play in standalone and cd1 still locked up, converted it to dvd with svcd2dvd and about 20mins dissapeared. Hopefully I can get around this. anyway from, what I have seen.
Video - 7 - It's a dark film, and dark films always look a bit 'offish' when it's a TS
Audio - 9 - Sounds almost perfect on 5.1 system
Movie - ??? not seen it all yet.

didn't you notice that every single text that ever got written onto the screen wasn't exactly in english?
and i'm not talking only about "prèdateur", i mean also "orbite basse terrestre" just a few seconds later and all the stuff like that when the scene change ("brise glace", "confidentielle" and some more i couldn't find)...

but I wonder where they get copies of movies that are in english, yet have french subs. I mean, if it's a version for the french or canadian market, then why is it still in English, apart from the words on screen? what's the purpose in translating the words on screen, yet leaving everything else in english?

Come on.. The video source comes from Canada ( I guess so, cause maVen releases are going fastly on the french scene, altough the audio is canadio-french ), but they add english DTS sound to release it on the US scene.. that's just it

tho 8/8/5, big dissapointment, where are the good ol' aliens movies..

I seriously doubt it, sorry :/

that'd be cool a canadian releaser, I hope they are

Posted by ^Om3n on 08-21-2004 02:15 PM:

Right, they use seperate DTS tracks i would assume, of course synced to the same video source.

Yes......It is French-Canadian

In Quebec you have to screen the english and the english/french subs. And thats for the people that want to know so bad!!

As far as the movie.....GREAT RELEASE!! No problem burning to disk....used vcdgear and nero ultra no prob....so if you have a prob look in the mirror cause the solution is closer than u think!!
