How come these are accepted releases when they are missing scenes? I don't understand the logic of that? Are any of the releases full? If a video is bad quality isn't it usualed 'nuked'? Doesn't 'missing' scenes constitute bad video?

I have the TCF version which is missing a good 3-4 minutes when Aragorn goes over the cliff...

Started getting the pvdvd version, then saw 6-7 minutes missing when they re-capture Gollum in the forbidden pool...

I didn't even want to mess with the univesally 'hailed' UTI version...WHY? Cause I read early on that the camera-man drops the camera SEVERAL times...

Call me crazy or unappreciative but why is this happening, I can't remember another film 'missing' scenes like this...I know the film is long but jeez...At this point I'd settle for a 'fair' release if I knew it was FULL...

And pleez, it'd be nice if someone told us what and if it was missing scenes in the nfo...

I know I don't risk my neck to get and release these movies and I've always been very appreciative of them...so this is really just a fan ranting...

pretty sure we wont get one without missing scenes until a screener

the german ACP Source seems to be pretty complete!

Sometimes the tape can run out in the Cam - especially for very long movies like this. It takes time to plop a new one in

it's FREE, a few minutes missing is fine. If you don't like it then you better pray for a DVD screener.

screener when?

Does anyone at all know when we can expect the dvd screeners?
is there a certain time from theatrical release in which they come out?

p.s. <in regard to the original quoter>

Look guys, we're stealing movies here; getting movies for free. Do we have any reason to whine about quality and push our meaningless little votes about whether screeners have time codes and something being a proper telesync, or whether there is another step after screener being a retail dvd release that leaked, or some such other b.s. I say just download and enjoy a flick if you like it, and if somehow someone gets a great copy and generously releases it, then that's cool too. Have we forgotten what this scene is all about?"

what we do is not really so bad... it's not like most of us aren't going to buy the dvd (with the additional extra footage) anyway.
and your arguement about quality kinda is retarded considering the name of the website lol

Are you kind of like a cyborg version of me? Grinch2000! Now with jet powered slay to aid stealing of xmas!

I finally got around to watching this release (actually the scvd reencode by vpr). The overall quality is really nice. The colors seem to be a little faded, but other than that the video is pretty good.

7/7/10

Posted by Lord_Sauron on 01-06-2003 03:35 AM:

Telling me to wait for a screener is a bit pointless...just like everyone else I want that...Although I seem to be among the few who are being patient about it...

Also telling me a few minutes missing from a movie is no big deal is very idiotic...I think of countless movies where missing 2 or 3 can totally 'F' up the entire movie...and I think in this case missing the scene where gollum is captured is horrible, you miss a very important part....

But whatever...now I'll tell myself to 'pray' for a screener copy...

Posted by bobbest on 01-06-2003 03:44 PM:

refering to my own info.......

there is a posibility that there will be no DVD screener.......

the producers of movie haven`t sent any copy to nobody.....

for exmpl. all jurnalist have recived private invitetation to the theaters........

a shame

I wish I`am WRONG

peace

where is the jpeg for the "vpr" version??

Posted by Xgpu on 01-08-2003 12:12 AM:

I'm starting to think there will be no screener

I like some others may be convinced we are going to have no screener for this one. With that we may see more private invites in order to screen movies for other major movies from now on. It's time we start getting wicked with encoding skills. Encode like there may never be a screener. Let's get midevil!!!

OI!, You try fitting 3+Hours worth of video on a ~80 minute tape. The missing minutes are a result of Tape replacement
