Thumbs up

7/6/9

The picture is excellent, with the exception of the couple of occasions where the camera was knocked over, hence 7/10! UTI always seem to give a good, crisp picture. The sound is good, but there is a fair bit of audience noise so I can only give it a 6/10, it doesn't ruin the movie though.

In my opinion the only thing that will top this is a DVD Screener, thanks a million UTI. It was worth waiting for this release.

I still can't believe people think this is good quality, It's poor. The jpegs look good as all UTI's cam's do but high motion falls apart on their DV cam. I have nothing but the greatest respect My 1st cam from them was stuart little 2. That looked like a dvd rip from the jpeg but when you watched the film it was grainy as hell. This is grainy. The whites are so bright it makes any scene with gandalf in blinding. If this is the only copy of 2 towers you see I feel very sorry for you (Unless you hate the film of course). This is a shit cam done by an amateur. Yes UTI can and have done better just a pity they've not worked out how to utilise induction loops. (Or white balance for that matter)

And if one more person says well do better if you can well I'll just scream. It's the lamest arguement, it's like watching Home & Away on 5 and saying well don't knock it it's free. Or your local gives away pints of sewage.

Avoid all versions of this film until a screener/Telecine comes out and when it does a divx/xvid or 4+(maybe even 5) svcd rip comes along. VCD is just far too poor a format to do this release justice. where as the 2cd rip by vite last year was damn good.

PS. Get an Xbox, chip it, get xbox media player 2 and shabang.
Can play vcd/svcd/xvid/divx 3.11/4/5.xx/asf and of course dvd's over the network cable or straight off dvd+rw
Better than any other player I've ever seen and better quality than the shitty apex (OK on a 20inch, no good for my widescreen sony) I bought from Ebay.

I believe you can play games on the thing as well but I've never tried.

This is good as far as the other ones, FTF and TCF are horrible.. But this one is defintely not the one to watch if you have not seen it in the theater yet..

Are there variants of UTi's release floating around? I've burned the 3rd CD twice from two different UTI CD3 bin files and the video on each starts at different points. And on IRC you can find CD2 in two different sizes: 558MB and 567MB. Did UTi modify their release? or did somebody fuck with it?

Here are my file sizes in Windows Explorer:
lotrttt1-uti.bin 657,320 KB
lotrttt2-uti.bin 618,425 KB
lotrttt3-uti.bin 487,877 KB

:: unless you see a *REPACK* out , probably means its been fucked with. expect that type of thing on iRC -pHo

decent quality cam. its definatley watchable. the sound is a bit tinny, but the picture is not bad. the only thing that pissed me off about it is every now and then the guy recording it knocks the camera down and has to set it back up again, and you miss a little bit of the action.

The cam of this movie isn't that good. The video has washed out color and the guy camming the move drops the camera like 5 times. 5/5/9 is what I rate it. This movie is to good to watch a sub par copy. Wait for the dvd screener to come out.....soooooooooooooon I hope

Want to see a screener or DVDscreener reeeeal soon.

Posted by m0kka on 01-06-2003 04:36 PM:

gandalf

I think its okay, but what the fuck is the guy doing?? fickling with the camera and shit, frustrating. And also, in the best scene in this film, when Gandalf down the hill at the fifth day, you cant fucking see him! Gandalf the invisible? heh. Things are nice when things arent light, very good actually...
