Zaun,
Because I have a 32" tv and only a 17" monitor... and if by the conotation noobie you mean that I don't know what I'm talking about then you are mistaken. Perhapse my wording was poor, however, your comment was less then constructive.

::Oh and because its PAL its resolution is not 480 X 480... it is 480 X 360. NTSC SVCDs have a resolution of 480 X 480 generally.::

actually, PAL is 480 x 576
Thanks guy
Well not much to say.....But it's the best..
The advantage of Centropy having the same source as APM, is it allow you to compare the differences between VCD and SVCD
Hope Centropy will not crop the edges in the future
We do want to see all of the movie

It might look better to your eye because your TV smooths the lines and uses round "pixels" but, your monitor / pc shows more detail.
Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed that between disc 1 and 2 there is a chunk of the movie missing. Disc 1 ends with the Trinity and Neo sex scene then all of a sudden the 2nd disc starts with Neo walking down the hallway to see the Oracle. I saw this in the theatres and it seems to me part of the movie is missing.
Otherwise great release from centropy!!!!
I downloaded both the APM and CTP releases and compared the first 3 minutes. The sources both look exactly the same, but CTP have done a much better job at encoding so I watched that one.
The APM version has obvious mpeg1 ghosting and some macro-blocking. I didnt notice any such encoding artefacts on the CTP release.
Both are certainly watchable, but I chose the CTP one as my dvd player has no problems with SVCDs.
Super release. Another great release thx to Centropy.

great job on this

this movie was off the hook...
I have seen the Esoteric, FTF, APM and Centropy versions of this release and by far, the Centropy version is the best.
If you have highspeed, it's a no brainer-grab the CTP 3 SVCD,
but if you're stuck with dial up, or cannot afford a huge d/l, then go ahead and d/l the APM version, it's very close.
CTP, you have done it again, but how about NTSC next time? I hate having to work your work to get it working
8/8/9

Oh, it's just JC
Well I was away for the long weekend (well the Canadian users had a long weekend, dont know about us or brits) and i got back late last night. So i ended up leeching this instead of the APM release. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, just looked at bits and pieces of each cd, but from what i can see, the release is very good. It does have an angle, the whole numbers down the screen at the beginning makes this easier to notice, but its not much of a bother. The vid is a bit dark in some scenes, but generally very good, colors are good, sharpness is great, angle isnt noticable in the majority of the parts (that i watched), overall great video. I have no complaints about the sound, i played on my standalone with my surround sound system, didnt notice any buzz.
overall rating
8.5/9/9
also i didnt bother getting the apm release so i cant comment on that they were from the same source, i may download the sample and just compare that scene later on. and i must say that the intro on this release was pretty cool, i loved the whole quoting of the cnet article.
Keep it up ctp.
I finally had a chance to DL and burn the CTP copy as I had to see for myself if they were the same source and how much better CTP copy was...
Almost no doubt the source is the same, same angle (yes to me it is very obvious but I can live with it) but the color and clarity is far superior on the CTP svcd version -not surprising seeing that more than double the data rate for SVCD.
The sound seemed a tad better to me but I am almost ddef in one ear so I'll let others debate that.
I vote 8/8/7 -a very good release indeed. I didn't care for the Centropy intro too much, a bit too long for my taste but the 3D rendering was mucho cool
CTP is the only stuff i d/l anymore.
great release.
Sound was excellent and video.
I just wish they'd release in NTSC - pal conversion is a pita.
Gotta use tmpgenc (only app that keeps it in sync) which is
slow as hell.

This release is better that the other 2 I've downloaded. Great Job CTP.......as always.
Guys, actually you can correct for the angle if you use the ffdshow codec -- there's a perspective correction feature in the alpha version that seems designed just for these cam/ts rips. Unfortunately it seems not to work for svcd's, cause it has to be divx/xvid or something you can play through wmp (such as vcd) -- unless there's a decent way to play svcd's in wmp, that I don't know of.
Still, it works for everything else, such as the apm vcd release, and the impurity/pit divx reencodes of the ctp release (I have the impurity reencode, this thing works great, just calibrated the amount of correction using the cascading text at the very beginning of the movie, no more angle now )...
only downside is that if the source was cropped square like these are, you'll lose yet more of the original picture as the filter crops it square yet again as it's correcting the angle... another reason the groups shouldn't crop just to disguise the fact there's an angle...
check it out -- http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/
I'm in the process of getting this release as we speak, but after watching the sample i can say that it's quite good. Looks nice and clean on my 32" widescreen. There is definetely an angle, but it's nothing major. I can live with this release until the DVD-R comes out
I cant seem to burn it. It says content is to big for disc. do i have to use a 800MB disc?
no i didnt...i used 700 mb disc's and burned it with nero using DAO (Disk at once) ive got under preferences -> expert features - overburning enabled, normally nero just reports that there isnt enough space do you wish to finalize the cd - just press yes
i just downloaded it.....and i have 3 .bin and 3 .cue files. how do i convert them so i can burn them to a cd?
how can some people have perfect sound and others have lousy? I don't get it...either people are lying that they got the release and just going by what other people say or something got screwed up in the download. Mine had a very annoying buzz to it all the way through a 3 discs....I couldn't get rid of even when I tunred the treble way down....this is sub-par quality for Centropy and they should be ashamed....I still watched it but I won't watch again because the quality sucks so much for sound...so all you people giving the sound a 9(!!!!!!!!!!!!) what the hell are you thinking? Sound is like a 6 at best....
