A Wednesday (India, 2008)
A terrorist plants 6 bombs around Madras and demands the release of 4 (mostly al qaeda) terrorists within 4.5hrs by calling the police commissioner. He's technologically advanced, proves his capability by giving the police the first bomb (which he's hidden in a police station close to the police control centre), and he contacts a TV journalist and gives her a scoop so that her coverage of events will act as his eyes (via TV) of progress towards his demands.
It's not a great film, not exceptionally well acted, tries too much to be Hollywood. (But there aren't any songs and no dancing!!!
)
But when you get past all that...the last 20 minutes of dialogue...fucking superb! Trust me, a LOT of people on here will connect with the film on the basis of how the story plays out!
Enjoyed it, will be going back for more Indian movies, they appear to be making real movies now, not just fodder for illiterate itinerants.
6.9/10
