what proggy does vcdq use for screenshots?

I've been wondering, are the screenshots taken within video players? or another external program? powerdvd takes screenshots, but i want something that can take screenshots of wmv and quicktime clips.

You can use pretty much any player but I think VLC, Zoomplayer or MPlayer are the most likely choices.

On Unix/Mac, I use mplayer's JPEG output to capture the images and then ImageMagick to align and label them. The whole process takes about 30 seconds.

Never tried it on Windows.

iirc don't you mainly do tv updates? Meaning no-one looks at the pics anyway?

No. The TV section never has pics except for a couple select releases.

All the JPEGs that are nicely spaced 2x2 with the 10-point cyan "www.vcdquality.com" watermarks at the bottom of the top row and the top of the bottom row, and the title prominently displayed across the middle black area ... those are mine.

Nooo ... I have. It was terrible.

Fortunately I can say that I've never owned a machine that ran Windows.

All the samples are supposed to look that way *cough* but many of the updaters are lazy bums.
