Question avi to vcd?

Is there any way to convert an avi to vcd without having to convert to mpeg first?

I'm a tmd guy, so converting there files takes a few hours and thats just to damn long to wait.

ashampoo movie shrink and burn will let you go from any format to another . in the vcd, svcd,DivX ,wmv or quicktime [type] for the pc standalone or PDA be warned you loose quality each time you convert from avi to vcd they are all called mpegs mpeg-1 is vcd,mpeg-2 is svcd mpeg-3 quicktime and mpeg-4 DivX and XviD avi.s

Thank you anyways

Thanks for the help, but I don't think I will be needing it. I was reading through some of the other posts and I heard the name WinAVI so I picked that up along with Nero and its smooth sailing. I have already enjoyed Wastedtimes Cursed on the tv tonight.

I do have one question tho, why is it when I make a VCD with WinAVI and try to burn it as a VCD disc Nero says its not compatible with VCD, and Nero has to encode it again before it burns? If you know anything about WinAVI or Nero Ultra. But if not its no big deal, it only takes 10 extra minutes.

by converting to vcd, you are converting to mpeg, so your question makes as much sense as eating a big red candle

There's a cure for that... TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET!

Damn, I'd rather have SARS than a TMD reencode

im guessing you get tmd moviez because your connection is a tad slow to get the original releases? who knows.

if you want to convert movies to vcd but you dont want it to take hours then just download the original vcd, not the tmd re-encode. sure, it will take you longer to download but its all ready to burn onto vcd, its MUCH better quality (trust me) and there is no messing around with 15fps video files with 56kbps audio (i.e poor quality).

this is just my opinion though, if u prefer tmd thats fine with me!! personally i want my films to be as good quality as possible and i hate low framerates!!

either way, good luck sorting it all out!

DIVX

Philips makes a DVD player, for about $80, that plays all formats. The label on the box actuallay says--you burn it we play it. I have one, and I love it, I burn the avi, or the xvid or raw mpg right to cd-r and away I go!!

Well worth the dough!
