as in post processed effects (a la photoshop, hdr, etc), or stuff like long exposure shots, macro?

Some of the best pictures I've seen recently were taken with a mobile phone!

here for some basics, or here for some lens info.

Also try some forums too. Talkphotography is probably one of the best around.

Barring that, i'm no David Bailey but I might be able to help you out with a few things!
