Looks great.
Release #5.
And No proper tags from ctp as usual.

Posted by IRC_Moviefan on 02-22-2005 07:14 PM:

Watched a few *rars* of this now , the only difference i can see between this (besides dupe) and SAOSiN , is Centropy's colors are washed, the top of the heads are still cut off (not as bad but noticeable) , and doesnt have the angle that SAOSiN has. Bit blurry , not as clear as SAOSiN.

This release has been overdone now and im sure people will vote 10/10 cause its Centropy ...

Due to colors being washed , tad blurry and top of heads also chopped ..

7/9/?

2 Camming groups releasing stuff ... YAY no more silvers so i welcome both Centropy and SAOSiN to release stuff and give a bit of competition.

What i dont understand is Centropy is quiet for weeks, SAOSiN comes outta nowhere with nice watchable releases , then Centropy makes a comeback. Be interesting to see this weekends movies , if SAOSiN releases and Centropy does same ones or vice versa. I just hope both groups are around to stay and Centropy isnt just releasing to discourage SAOSiN

Ok, for starters .. this is a pointless release. Dont get me wrong, i dont mean to talk down on centropy yet alone any group for that matter. I just don't see the point of it since a good copy dropped a day after theaters.

With that aside, colors are washed, there is no angle (saosin had a slight angle on theirs), but the top is cut off .. just not as bad as saosin's. But also centropy's has more on the sides ... not sure if saosin's was cropped out, zoomed in too much, or just the angle knocked it out.

This copy isnt bad, but i'd just stick with SAOSiN unless you just wanna get a release because it has a well known group's name tagged on it

7 picture isnt bad but colors are washed
9 great as usual
? still havent gotten around to watch it all, but from the first 40 minutes it seems good to me

Just like a few stated colors a little washed out but perfect AR perfect sync of audio. You can actually read what it says at the beginning. No angle like saosin. As far as TS's go this is only one that should have been done svcd.

Posted by Bubbalynch on 02-22-2005 09:51 PM:

Its close, but not quite the best....

The SAOSIN rls is cropped, no big deal. i can get over it. and it has a tilt to it (that u only notice the first 2 mins of the film) otherwise its best imo.

Centropy is a fine group but the picture on this just aint got the luster of SAOSIN's rls.and im a stickler for quality picture/color myself.

i wonder where Chankra is on this one.....

Posted by IRC_Moviefan on 02-22-2005 10:17 PM:

After downloading and skimming through CD1 , i cant see a huge difference to make me want to burn Centropy. You got a little more of the top and straighter for more blurry and washed colors. If you have SAOSiN release , you wont need this copy .

There are flaws in all 5 releases so far but we all have to remember they are TELESYNC's which are all cropped , or have issues to some degree.

I picked up SAOSiN's release saturday morning and it will do me for 4/5 weeks till a nice TELECiNE DVDR gets released.

One thing i dont understand here is the ratings ...

Centropy - 8.6/9.3/8.5
SG18 - 4.0/5.8/7.9
POT - 2.2/4.9/7.7
COBRA - 4.7/6.4/7.9
SAOSiN - 7.4/7.7/8.3

I can understand the picture quality rating but sound ?? , From what i read so far SAOSiN has 3 spots where it echo's (havent seen them as i cant make it through the movie) , but besides that their ALL DTS Disk Audio. How does POT get a 4.9 yet Centropy gets a 9.3 or SAOSiN a 7.7 ?

Point being , im sure if SAOSiN said Centropy or COBRA said VideoCD it woulda got higher ratings as not all but lots vote on the grp and not the actual quality.

Sound is not based on just dts in my opinion sound is also based on syncing of audio as well. of course they dont use the audio they had on the video source so all most sync the audio some do it better than others sg-18 I heard was very low sound so yes would get lower rating Pot release who knows guess people really thought was a waste of a pre

Posted by underdog on 02-23-2005 03:22 AM:

video is a little over-brightened (reminiscent of ctp's rls of I Robot but not as severe) but it's centered well with no angle or noticable cropping, and good aspect ratio. V=8

audio is what we've come to expect from TS's these days.... very very nice!! A=9

the film itself was actually much better than i expected. M=7

Comparing the ctp and saosin rls's of this is tough. Saosin's has more vibrant colors but ctp's doesn't have the top cropping or the dissonant echo in the audio.
Personally I prefer the ctp version, the weird sound of saosin's bothered me more than the slightly faded pic of this one.
It's just a matter of preference though... damn it's nice to be able to compare two TS's of such nice quality!

Posted by HaLiKuS on 02-23-2005 03:29 AM:

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

8/9/7

I personally like the extra 1/3 the picture vs. SAOSiN colour at this point till retail.

i have been told that people are walking across the screen through a lot of the movie and at one point, there's a giant head in the way for app 10 minutes .... but this is just what i heard and honestly, i dont feel like dlin it all to find out

Posted by sleeper0 on 02-23-2005 08:15 AM:

haven't seen the other releases, but this is significantly cropped - lots of tops of heads are missing - and washed out in a lot of scenes. watchable but not super. 7/9/?

Posted by BLUE-NEO on 02-23-2005 08:20 AM:

Ok! Not sure what crappy monitors some of you have, or what codec's but this looks good. Colors are fine, video is clear, real clear. I still give SAOSIN there credit...their telesync was great even with the bad angle. But I just viewed this completely and its excellent. Cropped Nicely, no Angle. Colors look real good and detail, not to mention on one night time scene ( won't spoil it) It was bluish on other version and in perfect color on this version.

Definitely a Keeper...

Rated from actually getting release. View CD1 on PC, Watched Full Release on 65" Television.
Great Job CTP...

9/10/10 Video good, Sound Loud and Strong, and Great Movie.

Posted by concius on 02-23-2005 10:52 AM:

like most others have said. audio is spot on, video is a bit grainy and white lighted in places.
audio 8.0
video 7.0
movie 0.0
if anyone has seen any of the comic issues, they would agree. and worse, WB is planning on a sequel baised on the success of the first movie. hopefully someone in the WB studios will pick up a copy of the comic before signing off on the proposed new release.

Posted by I am X on 02-24-2005 02:34 AM:

2 things about Saosin Vs. Centropy's release of this movie. Centropy's doesn't have that bizarre echo that occurs periodically through the movie (since when can telesyncs generate an echo?). Also, the cropped AR makes a big difference. Centropy's crop is much nicer than Saosin's. When you watch them both on a standalone, the difference is astounding. Not only is Centropy's sharpness much better, but even though it's a tad brighter than Saosin's, it's much CLEARER. If you want to watch this movie on a standalone, I would highly recommend Centropy's over Saosin's.
Now that I've commented on the releases, I'd like to comment on the "return" of Centropy. For about a month, pretty crappy quality releases have been coming out. "Hide and Seek" was the best thing to hit any of us in a long time, and now Centropy has resurfaced. I am a Centropy whore, and I admit it. Talk crap about them if you want, but their releases pretty much have always killed the competition, with the exception of "VideoCd" and "Maven". Those 3 groups have ruled the scene for a long time. I hope to see Maven and VideoCd return some day to "rival" Centropy. That would be GREAT to have those 3 groups dominating the scene at the same time, but for now, it's GREAT to see Centropy back in the saddle again! I look forward to seeing many more of their future releases....

Centropy Shows Them How To Do It....
What a load of rubbish...

I have watched both releases in full and I'm sorry to all you Centropy fans but SAO's version is a better picture...
Even if it is a little off centre...
Centropy is also cropped, colours are washed out and motion is blurry in parts.

All in all it wouldn't matter which one you get as they both have their good and bad points. I just hate how you guys idol the larger groups at the detriment of the lesser known groups.

SAO's
7.5/7/10
Centropy
6.5/7.5/10

My congratulations too all in the scene who provide releases good and bad without you I wouldn't need broadband.

Um, what movie are you gyus watching here...

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, but Centropy's version is far, far superior to SAOSIN's. No bullshit crop, no bullshit tilt, and no echo.

What else do you need here man? Centropy gets the respect because they are the best...I mean, if you can honestly sit there and say that SAOSIN's is better, then my friend, you need your head checked.

8/9/x for a ts

nice release and good to see them back. much better than SAOSIN's (which was a good ts in it own right)

Posted by bigbug41 on 02-25-2005 06:07 AM:

Actually watched both

I owe Centropy (Still the KINGS ) an apology after getting a chance to convert both to dvd-r the centropy picture is so much better and the sound just BOOMS out of my surround sound (Dam Near Came on myself ) 9,10,7 Movie was just a little above alright to me

Posted by Sin316 on 02-25-2005 07:03 AM:

since every other release has been nuked , i dont even care about proper or not lol.

i know why i waited.

for ts :

9/9/

movie was quite entertaining , even if it had the touch of being produced by the US Health Department ^^.

anyway ill give it a solid 8.

ps : if pot would release such video quality , they would get more then a 3-5 for video aswell lol (and ctp isnt best , go figure)

The cropping, I can live with. I never did go for the Saosin release... but, in seeing the image comparisons a few posts up, it's quite apparent. The movie wasn't horrid, but I think I was hoping for something a little more grabbing or intense for some reason. There does appear to be a couple scenes (albeit few) where the audio appears to almost cut the rest of the sound... almost seemed like it was a touch too deep to pick up. No complaints on it, though, but I do think better has been released. 7/7/6

Great Release!! not just because its centropy,

the colours are slightly washed but i cannot see why some people have said its been over cropped... when the WB logo comes up at the start it looks perfect.

Sound in sync and perfect! - 9

Video: good, best yet, on tv it looks great - 8

Movie: well i was gonna see this one on the big screen but we have to wait for 3 more weeks till its released... hell no!

A tad less cropped then the SAOSIN copy and NO tilt so u can read the intro Prologue. Which is a plus. A tad brighter and more drab color than SAOSIN, but because of the abscense of the tilt in the Pic. I found it to the more enjoyable of the two. Both have nice DTS Audio tracks. 3 cheers for Centropys return from the dead. I hope to see more great releases!!

Mega Props to the Oldest and Most Respected Group in the Scene!!

7.5/8/8

Nice TS, on par for what Ctp use to do, though not quite their top notch stuff. Still, very watchable, and good movie as well, both the wife and I enjoyed it last night.

Video - 7
Audio - 9 (For TS with Circle Cinema on my Reciever, sound excellent, and surround sound to boot! )
Movie - 8

I enjoyed this so much that i spent time to transform this to dvd using canopus. It is a keeper for me 9/9/9
My buds agree as well dvd-r plays for all of them rather than the svcd format. I share and as well appreciate the efforts of the groups to help us have affordable entertainment and cap the hollywood propaganda that is finaznced by us.

major problems watching end of cd1.. freezes, screeching noise..then stops right before the end of it..i thought it was the cdr, but played it straight from the harddrive- same thing..burnt it on another brand-same thing..i had to try to watch it like 5x until i had it play semi-watcheable..
any advise on why this happened?

Had the exact same thing happen at the end of CD1 and CD2. Freeze, skip and finally just stop. I had to turn my player off and back on again to get it to even play the disk again. Maybe it was just a bad burn on my part, but the fact it happened at the end of each CD was a bit suspect.

Centropy you can always bet on a decent release from these guys!!!!!!!for ts :

9/9/

Posted by razorbladex90 on 03-20-2005 10:53 PM:

not a bad release, could have been better but not bad. pics a bit dark & cropping seems a bit excessive. Sound was good, movie was enjoyable apart from a predictably bad performance from keanu reeves!!!

vid - 6.5
Sound - 8
Movie - 7

I Thought this release was damn good, not Centropy's best but still better than most of whats out there. There were parts that were a little to dark (where that guy is walking through the field of cows, for example) and the video was a little washed out for my liking. The audio on the other hand I thought was great at least it was on my surround sound. I thought the movie itself was very good although I think the Matrix dude should have left the Matrix acting where it belonged. Anyway I would propably watch it again as it had a little of the Exorsist thing going on.
