Now the 'normal' Big Brother with a bunch of nobodies who most end up z-list and just piss me off for months after its finished,
Ain't my cuppa tea....


but the last 2 Celebrity Big Brothers have been quite interesting.
naturally there's a few 'fillers' or 'so called' Celebrities.
But the last CBB had attracted a housemate who was head of a political party here in the UK.
Also a well known TV presenter who turned out to be gay
and recently cleared from killing another dude who was found dead in his pool.

anyways, it was interesting car crash tv for me..



but this CBB4 (starting in a few days) has attracted a few more 'faces' i wouldn't mind seeing in a semi 'normal' environment
basically without a PR rep in their ear telling em what to say.
sure i bet a few are briefed before going in.
but when the arguments start and they let there guard down.... hubba hubba

Channel 4 has denied claims that Celebrity Big Brother contestant Shilpa Shetty has suffered racist bullying.

There had been a "cultural and class clash" between three other housemates and the Indian star, the channel said.

This comes after politicians entered the row. Chancellor Gordon Brown, on a visit to India, condemned anything that went against British "tolerance".

Channel 4 and TV regulator Ofcom have had more than 21,000 complaints about treatment of Shetty.

The station said in a statement: "To date there has been no overt racial abuse or racist behaviour directed against Shilpa Shetty within the Big Brother house.

"However there has undoubtedly been a cultural and class clash between her and three of the British females in the house."

The statement added that housemates had constant access to support from Big Brother, and Shetty had "not voiced any concerns of racial abuse".

End of the day, in my mind its on a thin line between classism and racism. From my experiences (especially after spending my first school days in an all white school whilst being a practicing sikh) it seems like racism to me. Perhaps its just me, but overt or not, Im glad Shilpa is gaining the countries support.

At least with this episode, the response to the bigoted, bitchy attitudes displayed will do more to harmonise communities than drive them apart.

So some good will come out of it.

Race row 'saved dull Big Brother'

The controversy over alleged racism in Big Brother saved the show from being dull, says Channel 4 chief Kevin Lygo.

"This was in danger of being the most boring BB that we'd had in many years, maybe ever," the channel's director of television told Broadcast magazine.

Lygo admitted wondering "what can we do?" before the race row "erupted into this extraordinary story".

More than 40,000 viewers complained to Ofcom over the alleged victimisation of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Housemate Jade Goody was seen calling the Bollywood star "Shilpa Poppadom" while former model Danielle Lloyd declared she should go home.

After her eviction last Friday, Goody admitted her behaviour was "nasty" but denied being racist.

'Right decisions'

Lygo, who was giving his first interview since the Big Brother row began, said he stood by the programme's producers.

"I think we made the right decisions all the time," he said. "I don't think looking back at it we'd say: 'If only we'd done that' or 'if only we'd done this.'"

Broadcast reported that no jobs would be lost over the situation.

Channel 4 chief executive Andy Duncan also stood by the programme, and denied it would harm the channel's campaign to secure new funds from the government.

"Politicians are more than capable of separating the furore about Big Brother from long-term policy decisions," he said.

Duncan has said Channel 4 urgently needs a new form government subsidy to replace the free broadcasting space it was given when it launched, and which has become increasingly redundant as viewers switch to digital.

Media watchdog Ofcom has received more than 40,000 complaints about the alleged racist bullying in the current series of Big Brother.

Duncan said Channel 4 regretted causing offence, but would not apologise for broadcasting the footage or sparking a debate on racism.

The broadcaster, which has faced calls to axe the show completely, was ordered to conduct a review of Big Brother by its board earlier this week.

Channel 4 is cancelling all votes cast for this Friday's Big Brother eviction after giving out the wrong information.





A message on Wednesday's show directed viewers to vote "to save Shilpa", when it should have read "to evict Shilpa".

The broadcaster apologised to viewers for the error and is offering a refund to all those who have voted so far.

Meanwhile, the race row surrounding the show continues with the announcement that the paperback release of Jade Goody's autobiography has been shelved.

Jade: My Autobiography, released in hardback last year, was due to be reprinted by HarperCollins on 5 February.

"In light of recent events, HarperCollins has decided it wouldn't be appropriate to proceed with the paperback publication of Jade: My Autobiography," said the publishing giant in a statement.

"The author and agent support this decision."

Dirk Benedict, Jo O'Meara, Ian Watkins, Shilpa Shetty and Cleo Rocos all face eviction this Friday, with voting lines set to re-open at the end of Thursday's Channel 4 show.

The broadcaster has pledged to donate the profits from the re-opened eviction voting to the candidates' charities.

The announcement that five housemates would face the public vote was met with shock in the Celebrity Big Brother house, with former model Danielle Lloyd bursting into tears.

Two contestants will be booted out in a live programme on Friday.

A tabloid campaign is already underway to evict pop singer O'Meara, who was involved with Goody in the alleged racist bullying of Bollywood star Shetty.

Shetty is now favourite to win the show, which concludes on Sunday.
