Videocd just can't get enough of releases right now!


This ain't as good as Garfield which is probably their best effort of late, but this is still a nice TS as usual. Only thing that bugs me about these is the slight motion blur that you get from time to time. Could become annoying in a film like this where there is likely to be a lot of action.

Anyway, props as always to Videocd. Another piece of quality.

From watching the sample, This release looks MUCH better than the other two that have been released (Cultaclassic and fBC). The video looks a bit saturated/bright; this release is very watchable compaired to the other two releases. The sound (from watching the sample) is excellent, it comes through clear and doesn't have the crackling like the fBC release had).

I've seen this movie in the theatre; If you liked Pitch Black and the Xbox game (Escape from Butchers Bay) this movie expands the universe of Riddick .

Not sure what's with all the Vin Deisel bashing...Even if you dislike him it's the MOVIE you should be rating not Vin Deisel the person.

The guy has his own video game company and is a D&D geek so he's alright in my book .

A nice release but a little under VideoCD's best. I didn't plan on
even watching this but boredom changed my mind. It's about the
same quality as their Stepford Wives rls.

One of the lesser groups is supposed to have an internal of
Dodgeball later tomorrow. I hope VCD plans on giving us a
good copy of that one. Love those stupid comedy flicks

Passions of the Christ had zoom in and out issues, and people walking through it. Not to mention cut before the credits. Hellboy well hell it looked good and then cd2 just f..ked all up. So Centropy didn't do shit, they are a group of the past. Stop Comparing Videocd to them.
Videocd should just be congratulated for their work and not compared. If thats the case compare them to TCR since they were the last group to actually release nice stuff. Not Centropy.

first off, GREAT job videocd..you guys are kickin ass the last few months.

second, im thinking that a bunch of the posts for this rls are just people seeing its done by videocd and checkin the jpeg and then saying "oh ya videocd at it again... 8/8/x" or whatever
ive burnt and watched cd1 on the standalone player and it really looks amazing, better then some people are saying. the bright scenes aren't to bright and the dark scenes aren't to dark.

saw this one at the movies on friday and i really enjoyed it, and the movie is a very dark movie even in the theatre so with that said and the difficulty in capturing this one because of the very dark scenes and then a few very bright scenes i have to rate this very well

(also noticed that everything was in english which i thought was unusual as lately videocd has been putting out movies from french sources)

I guess I am going to have to finish downloading this and see if this has the full ending.

BTW I think VideoCD is better then Centropy ever was just to add to that fire. VideoCD = better sound and no angle. Centropy had better color usually and didn't cut their endings but they are the past. VideoCD is doing next generation type stuff when you look at releases like Kill Bill 2, Garfield and Shrek 2.

rls is nice typical TS from vidcd i thought movie was a decent enough sci fi flick...got a bit conan at the end...but sequeks ahoy me thinks a trilogy is coming from this.

werd ... nice TS VideoCD!

A decent follow up to Pitch Black, decent colors, and decent video ... you can tell the movie is pretty dark, so it would be very hard to cam/cap. It definately does look better on the TV rather than the computer, but for those who don't like to EVER leave their computer screen, then I guess your reviews will be a bit lower.

And for those people who compare groups to other groups ... it isn't worth it, because groups are naturally going to get better the longer they do what they do. VideoCD has an excellent silver supply, and a DTS supplier/decoder, which is why their releases are nice, nicer than most ... but they are no Centropy, they are no TCR, they are VideoCD. Keep comparing, 'cause one day we'll compare another group to VideoCD after they get busted/tired/whatever you want to fill in here ... and go away. Just my opinion. Have a nice day.

Well, I guess things haven't changed much here at VCDQuality since I last bothered to write anything. Actually, I shouldn't say that... looks like more "wannabe scene whores" and pre-teen geeks here who rate full fuckin releases by jpegs and fuckin samples. Man oh man, when are they gonna get some moderators and people to run this site that also have heads out of ass, and put this site back on top like it needs to be. I mean christ, these threads are for rating the releases of movies - not petty bickering back and forth about which groups suck dick better.


ON TO THE REVIEW:
I watched the entire Internal TS that FbC did, and although the angle in that was attrocious, it was bearable. And the movie wasn't TERRIBLY bad... seemed like it aimed too high, and missed. Had it tightened up the story, and not tried to be so "epic" and large scale, prolly would have worked better.

But, I figure maybe if a better version comes out, I'll watch again... and boy oh boy, was VideoCD's TS worth getting. I mean, I know it's gonna be at least a month or more before anyone starts seeing screeners. So a TS don't bother me - and I'm gonna RATE THIS based on what it is - a TS.

So, with that in mind

Video - 8.5/10
not too terribly bad... as some have mentioned, there is some head cropping, but it's not terribly noticeable except for a few scenes. Colors and picture are way better than the CAMS that came out first.

Audio - 8/10
Major improvement, but of course, this aint CAM audio like the FbC mislabeled TS. Not hollow, not tinny. Sounded great on my Home Theater System.

Movie - 6.5/10
After having a clearer version, and watching again, I have to say it's not a TERRIBLE movie, but by no means is it a great one. I do have to admit that I would buy this USED on DVD (under 10 bucks) just to see some of the production design, and a few of the action sequences. But could I sit and keep watching this movie from start to finish? PROBABLY - and that's why it gets a 6.5 and not just a 6 - cuz if I was bored enough, I might even sit through the terrible Necromonger dialog again.

Overall good release from VideoCD. Pic is dark, but so is the movie. Sound is top notch. The movie was ok. Nothing great, but not the piece of trash it's made out to be either.

Thanx for the rls VideoCD finally.... This is the rls i have been waiting for the pic goes a lil green once and a while during disc one, but other than that and an ever slight tilt..the pic and sound are very nice...VideoCD continues to prove they are indeed the leader of the pack when it comes to high quality SVCD TS..I hope to see many more from u guys.. i know u don't care, but WE Do...Mego Props to VideoCD for the only watchable rls...Not how about a Telecine..LOL..

1st things first, great job here once again by videocd, many grps manage to release a decent telesync once in a while but this one amazes me the most because of the intense bright and dark scenes and all of them look just fine..

2nd I enjoyed this movie alot, many people here say it is a crap movie but I would say dont follow anyone's opinion and judge for your own, if your a sci-fi fan you'll surely enjoy this movie.. Yes off course it had a huge budget compared to pitch black and it looses some of it charm by that, but still this makes for a exciting film that was well worth my 2 hours.

Watched it last night. The movie believes it's better than it really is and tries to weave in a lot of mythology like Star Wars but it fails. It is however a pretty decent Sci-fi flick - It bares no resemblance to it's prequel, but there's plenty of action and I have to admit to quite liking the Riddick character even though Vin Diesil is a tit. Not only that, but after watching the whole thing you can really appreciate how good this TS is, considering the amount of dark scenes and fast motion this is as good as a TS could be under the circumstances.

Only glitches I saw were a few color corrections taking place in the first 5 minutes of the flick. Other than that, the video quality was nice. Audio sounded great. Movie itself was ok. Not as good as the first one, but of course had better special effects.

nice flick i was slightly impressed, i didnt care for pitch black in the slightest, but this gave a lil more depth with better action, with that said nice rls ok colors, slightly more motion blur than as of recent, a 5 sec dts disk problem on cd1, i think it maybe me but i saw a slight prob with the AR, looks slightly slighty squished to me, the usually small where its brite its white syndrom, but nothing more than that... but ppl wanted a release and videocd brought it, although slightly below their last 2 ts's as could be caused by the fact of over 50 min disks u gotta cut the quality somewhere and tis usually on color quality with that said 7/9/7

Wasnt as bad a movie as some of you made it out to be. Quality is good..there is a color flicker in the beginning of the movie but nothing too bad.

just watched download very pleased with quality has usual well done again lads keep them coming

great quality as normal it would appear , movie not bad, vd not my favourite actor but does ok in this, then im only after an hour or so's enjoyment from the humdrum of normal life, not looking for deep meaning full rubbish as it would appear most people on this site are from the comments they continually make about movie

VideoCD has done it again. I know this post may be kinda redundant, but oh well.

Looked insanely good on my TV, might even top a screener of this movie when/if one comes out before DVD. I'll probably stick to this until a retail rip or dvdscr rolls around.

On the movie: not bad at all, but didn't live up to the hype

Worst movie Ever!!! I couldnt believe how BAD this flick it!! Horrible story, dialogue was horrendous, acting bad, u name it!! It hurt to watch the ending... Trash!!!
Video was OK..Not the best VideoCD released, but OK..Sound was OK too.Nothing great..But the movie itself was
complete garbage!! Pitch Black 1 was much better! Simplier to understand, yet enjoyeable...Skip this one!!! Garfield was even better than this crap..

Didn't enjoy this movie (after loving the character in pitch black). The sound seemed poor however I set it up, very quiet dialogue over noise. Video was dark and colours were poor

Video and audio both almost perfect - audio drops for about a second at some point, although I can't recall exactly where due to being nearly comatose from lack of interest. The movie itself bored me to the extent that I consider it a victory to reach the end without sleep. Full of cardboard characters with cardboard acting.
