Thought the movie was ace.

Video colours look great.... eith cropped a bit much, or the bottom black bar is majorly high. Not a worry though. Sound is fine. (from sample)

Very crisp full body audio from my home cinema system

Picture was ok but the colors were faded and not very vibrant

The AR problem was easily fixed with 1 remote controll press on my TV

after watchign entire movie I would now rate it

8.9.9

Movie was funny as hell and my 2 kids loved it almost as much as me ..

Infact this movie was INCREDIBLE !!

Nice quality, not as good as a lot have been saying, I felt Shark Tale was better quality.
Its a bit blurry, but still nice enough to watch, but whats up with the borders, the films isnt dead centre

Probably the best release until a DVD-Rip, unless a TC appears.

Borders are like that because they cropped out some asian subs on the bottom.

Nothing else to say that hasnt been already been said. Great Job Centropy

Posted by diekund on 11-09-2004 11:01 PM:

wtf is that bottom border all about? this rls isnt as good as ur all making out. its dark and grainy and i dont think the pic could be any more off centre. im sure they are skilled enough to have realigned it or something. i wish pot's ts didnt have such terrible audio or i would have got that insteead. nice sound fair enough, but the cropping just ruins it imo

great release.

7/7/9

only 7 for audio because during some scenes, Mr. Incredibles voice sounded a bit robotic, and i know it wasnt supposed to.

and who cares about the borders? you still get the full movie with a slight bit of cropping. its not the end of the world. If it bothers you so much then go make your own telesyncs, otherwise stfu and enjoy what you get given

This is a very nice TS, improvements made since thier last release (SC), or at least it appears to be a lil better video, it could be due to animation, (only time will tell). Audio is superb as usual. Unsure how I feel about the cropping as I havent seen it on my tv yet.
On a lighter note, I loved the new intro.. kudos to CTP, that led to alotta lol's.

Ya right, I'm betting they did it as a joke.

You think that "prop" guy or the "costume lady" makes LESS if a movie doesn't make money?

If NOONE went to see the Incredibles from now on, because they can download this... do you think that that set designer makes LESS?

He gets paid EVEN if the movie doesn't get released.. and doesn't get paid MORE if it makes more at the box-office.

It's a LIE making it a joke, Centropy is calling them on it... showing "them" we KNOW it's a joke, and they are not fooling anyone.

KUDOs to Centropy.

Sweet release, and awesome intro.

Absolutely the best version by far, a much cleaner pick and a SVCD encode make this the version of choice for me. This is the treatment this fine film deserves.. I just wish i hadn't bother dowloading the POT cam and TS with DTS audio track...Another fine CTP release. WOOT!!

Didnt notice AR problems on the tube

Posted by underdog on 11-10-2004 04:22 AM:

going by the sample:

Video: 8.5: yes it's a little cropped at the bottom but as for myself I'd prefer a slightly larger bottom border over subtitles throughout the film anyday.

Sound: 9.5: Can't say I've heard distinctively better audio on a TS as to this point...

Movie: 9: saw it at the cinema with the kids, they loved it, I wasn't disappointed either.

This by far is isnt ctp's best work, the screen is not centered properly, way to high with a large bar to the bottom, due to subtitles, wide screen isnt necessary with this type of movie.you really think a 8 yr old kid cares about WS?, they will bitch more than appreciate it.
You have to watch this on a tv to notice this, not with media player or what have you.
Colors are washed out,vhs looking, dark at times, sound is good like Pot's TS,
6/8/8

Posted by EclipseGSX on 11-10-2004 01:56 PM:

This is two CTP releases in a row where the video wasn't centered on the screen. If you're going to crop out subtitles or something, then reencode it afterwards to center the picture. It sucks on a widescreen TV to have a black bar only on the bottom.

Overall the video quality's pretty good, as it's a pretty dark movie. Audio seems full and clear -- a few glitches now and then but I can deal.

V: 6 -- because of the off-centered pic and A/R
A: 7.5
M: ?

Posted by Blackpig on 11-10-2004 02:09 PM:

Just watched this Moive and damn good sound good one CTP.
I did change the CROP though using TMPGEnc just cropped the TOP by 62 and the bottom to 124 and all was well no flicker what so ever.

And it looks really well on a WS Tv aswell.

When extracting the bin and cue on cd1, I am getting that the bin file is corupt. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a fix?

Besided that the picture is slightly better than the previous ts release. Still to dark. Audio is good and sems to be in sync.

Who says this is for 8year olds, Pixar films are for more than just kids.
WS is necessary on a film like this because it was made that way, and considering most people i know have a WS TV, then i imagine the kids will bitch if it was FS and has huge borders at the side.
FS stuff on a WS TV is worse than WS on a FS one.

Though I do agree on the AR of this one, it wouldn't take long to remove the borders and add new ones, but i suppose beggars cant be choosers.

Posted by oo420oo on 11-10-2004 09:30 PM:

I saw this yesterday at the theater, great movie for kids and adults.
Video is a little grainy on my laptop; looks great on the tv. nice colors, too. Cropped to remove subtitles? 7

No, it's like a mini anti-piracy feature. It's a separate file on the disc, so you can just rip it out and just burn the movie.

An Update after trying it on a TV.

The AR isnt as noticable on a WS TV though it is off putting, but the pic is sharper and the dark bits look fine on the TV, while on the PC they're too dark.

The only fault i have is the sound, its too loud, it clear enough, but it verges on mild distortion in action scenes, but still a fine release, and will do until the DVD-Scr/Rip, I dont see a VHS Screener being as good and TC's seem to be a rareity again.

oh errr missus did just i notice that ?

anyways, yes we on page 4 now of this thred and nobody had said about the bit where the lock on the Tripod comes loose and the cam slowly tips down till almost the cam is pointing at the floor.
lol
Least the dude was on the case and noticed it and fixed it quick sharp.
also nobody said about the dude that walked past the Cam a bit of the way into the Pic.
im wondering how many rate a movie here after seeing just the sample.
i know its a lot but i wonder just how many?
some even rate by just the screen shot.
lol
sad

anyhoo, its the best of the 3 out there.
im not one for giveing the rateing by feckn numbers.

safe to say for a Cam TS its blinding and wont spoil the film if you want to watch it for the 1st time.
colours for a Cam Ts are good
Sound is good though a little to digital (if you know wot i mean?)
movie itself is verry good
one of them films you can sit and watch With the kids.

I noticed a small camera jerk at one point (during the dinner table scene, I think), but it didn't seem anywhere near as bad as you describe. A small tilt at best. I certainly didn't see anybody walking past the camera, although that happened at least twice during the POT release. Where did this happen? Are you sure you are reviewing the right release?

Overtime we've had some great telesync's from Maven, CTP, TCR, Videocd, and Even Pot & SG18. Oh yeah! and Tun.

But with this being another TS from CTP, its about average. No doubt I've seen them better. The camera moving alot and some pixelations knocked it down a notch, plus I had to do some major contract and luminance fixes. Overall its the better one out and great audio. But definitely not their worse or best.

I think the SVCD Telesync's are going to shits, Shark Tale gave me hope, but they are seeming rushed and worse. But props to all that supply us. I just wish the telesyncs were more than just cams with direct audio, people walking through the screen, camera constantly moving, it just ruins it. you would think years later it would've been better but oh! well great job ctp I look forward to more work.

7/9/10 Great movie...Even for a old guy I loved it. So did my son and my fiancee.

The picture was slightly blurry/dark .. colors weren't the greatest for a cartoon, seemed kinda rushed to me. Whenever the audio got loud (i mean extremely loud), it became fuzzy and hard to understand - this only happened a few times and lasted only a few seconds though. Movie was good, don't really agree with that imdb rating, but it's good .. if you like Pixar stuff, you'll really enjoy this..wish i would have seen it in the theater though

Overall i give this ...

7/7.5/7.5

Audio is nice pic a shade dark but still good

8/8/9

Posted by diekund on 11-11-2004 01:54 PM:

yes the camera does fuck up a few times. like in the scene where hes coming out of his car from work (before he picks it up above his head) the camera slips and is almost facing the roof. im still not impressed with this rls after watching the whole thing. the sound is a piss take, gets sooo loud when that robot thing is fighting him. already rated on quality before

Posted by joebb3 on 11-12-2004 07:21 AM:

I didn't notice the bad AR... The colors were much brighter than POTs release (Which was a fantastic release as well) and the audio was good... And my kids laughed the entire movie making it a GREAT family time and me "Super Dad" for getting it and converting it to DVD... Thanx Centropy... We've missed you!

8/7.5/9

I know this has been out a few days but I just got a chance to watch this. Picture was okay. The letterbox is a little to big (for some reason a little more on the bottom than the top). The audio was fine and the movie itself was typical Pixar.

Anyway:
Video 8(little movement but no big deal)
Audio 9
Movie 8

Posted by PlasmaWhore on 11-13-2004 08:04 AM:

Video was much better than the POT release, makes me wish I had waited since the one I watched all the way through was really dark. I rewatched a lot of this release and it made the movie much more enjoyable.

Thanx CTP, excellent quality. You guys are the best of the best.
V - 9 (Would have gotten a 10, but it was a shade too dark)
A - 9 (A little buzzy in the extremely loud parts)
M - 10 (Pixars best movie yet, the kids loved this one! It kicked Nemo's ass!)
Keep up the good work!

Not the best

Seen much better releases from this group.

Based on the movie and not the sample:

Video, way way toooooooooooo dark. After all, it is animation which is normally spectacular picture quality. Excessive black bar on bottom.

Audio was very good, although some parts blasted from where the volume was set. In the beginning when the characters are talking, you could hardly hear so you turned it up then whamo!! Audio was excessivly loud. Don't recall ever seeing such a varience at a theatre, and never on an animated film. Then there were the usual blips.

Movie, was ok from what I watched, as I said was too dark and I just gave up on it.

did anyone have issues burning this to a 80min/700mb cdr? I loaded it up in nero and it wouldn't let me burn it because it said their wasnt enough space

[EDIT:: Wrong place to ask questions you Muppet but seeing as you did... Nero > File Menu > Open > Change filetype to "Images" > Open the .cue file > BINGO!! Or use a dedicated image burning program - Neversoft]

wow...the best telesync i've ever seen..EVER!

video: 9-a bit lacking in color depth, but the color is almost head on. no flicker either

audio: 9-clipping (maxing 0 dBs) when there are big bass parts (explosions and such), so a bit loss of dynamics, but good for a TS

movie: 10-comical, suspenseful, and cant wait for the incredibles II (maybe haha) [my guess, since disney/pixar did do toy story 1 & 2]

problem...

anyone having a problem with first cd encoding it with tmpeg to a mpg 1??? Please let me know!!! I cannot convert...

Posted by AngelDeath on 11-14-2004 10:37 AM:

Did I miss it?

Well I know its a bit late, but I watched this from beginning to end, and The vidoe was a bit dark especially in the night scenes, but easily fixed on my tv by swtiching my preset to sports view, and lightening it up. As for the sound, almost perfect, a couple of scenes a bit low after a action scene, but overall very good.

Not there best, but will do til at least a dvdrip, or screener.

I didnt notice any person walking by the cam, unless someone was watching something else, the camera did slip at one point, which the camera guy caught, which caused a tilt in the dinner scene as said before, but never that drastic as claimed (roof or the floor).

One thing I did notice, which I dont know if its the movie, or it was just a preview thing. But in the previews on TV there is two scenes that stuck out, one was the scene where the wife looks in the mirror, the other scene is when Mr. Incredible is in his room and trying to put a belt on, and the wife says dinner, is says maybe just a salad.

Dont know if this was a tv inro scene or if this was in the movie, anyone who went to the movie confirm if this was in the actual movie? Cause I suspect there is possible a couple of mins missing from this release.

Video: 7
Audio: 8
Movie: 8

I AM AWARE OF HOW TO BURN!!! THe problem is with cd1 it is not letting me load with TMPEG and I find that converting to mpg 1 to burn to a dvd works much better! So again did anyone have that problem and any way to resolve it!?!?

good rls ...like always..nice work guys

8/8/8

Posted by weedchemist on 11-15-2004 07:33 AM:

all i can say is a normal CTP rls, they really need to update to a newer digital cam. not saying this is an analog source, but the grainyness as i have said before on team america made me set my brightness and contrast down... not a bad release at all, but ctp has fallen to vidcd, but i will always appreciate realeases like this, which werent covered by them, helps to fill the gaps... either way this wasnt that great of a movie i liked shark tale better for a digital movie, but hell wasnt as bad as the critics make it... but for this realease ( i sound like a skipping record dont i?) 7/9/6

Stop getting angry, you'll get a hernia.

As people have said, CD1 has two tracks. A small Centropy intro then the film. Extract the MPEG(s) with VCDGear first. Then load the MPEG in TMPG.

If you still get problems ltry frameserving. Load the MPEG in Virtual Dub, File>Start Frameserving>save as CD1.vdr. Then load CD1.vdr with TMPG. If you still get an error raise AVI compatibility Reader in the VFAPI plug-in>Environmental Settings in TMPG.

Posted by slats34 on 11-18-2004 04:02 PM:

both video and audio are awesome, the only flaw was when the tripod nudged down. but doesn't really matter, is fixed immediately and I thought the intro was a cool idea. V=8.5, A=9, M=8.5

Posted by MarkL on 11-20-2004 04:49 PM:

video = 7
audio = 9
movie = 8

video gets a 7 from me because of the big black bar along the bottom.. that is just plain ugly :P even on widescreen the black bar stays massive at the bottom and the top is gone.. but the quality is still nice.. not too dark at all and the audio is nice.. the movie is pretty good too.. definatly worth the download time, a good one for the family too..

8/8/9.5

Posted by CCkid on 11-27-2004 01:56 AM:

besides the slight flicker this release is on point. will wait for a DVD or screener before watching again.

8/8/7.5

Posted by weedchemist on 11-28-2004 10:01 AM:

just my opinion

but the fact is this movie is madd cropped, probably for a good reason, but this is far beyond normal widescreen, either way, what is there is above recent CTP quality, no need to change contrast and brightness, the movie itself is ehhh, not bad but not good, but a bit better in entertainment than the newer spongebob lol, either way this movie gets a 7/9/6

Posted by athomic on 11-29-2004 01:01 PM:

cool!!

Posted by XAVeRY on 11-30-2004 10:50 AM:

now this is what a telesync should be - different video source (not a normal CAM, professional camera from the projection booth) and DTS sound
great release of an outstanding movie definetely worth the effort

9/9/10

thanks CTP

Video - 7
Sound - 7
Movie - 9

As some others have mentioned, the camera tilts down during the dinner table scene and when joining for a DVDR I noticed that some frames are missing between the discs.
There are a lot of people posting that the sound is excellent, without mentioning the occasional slight 'warbling' quality during speech - it's only in a couple of places though. Also, about a second of sound is missing at the end of disc1.
The movie kicks major a$$ for me; I loved it almost as much as Shrek 2.
