Exclamation apex dvd player in the uk? !!HELP!!>>>>

hi,

i am after a cheap dvd player to play my vcds and svcds (dvds aswell, but have my ps2 to do that!)

i have been doing my homework, and it seems APEX dvd players play EVERYTHING!!! it seems they are not exactly top of the range but they r nice and cheap!!

so..

can anyone please tell me where i can get one of these in the UK?? (prefebly a low range £50 to £70 model!)

thanks in advance, ali

afaik, u can't buy APEX players over here, which isn't so bad as you can get players that are better (from my experience anyway) for similar prices.

Tesco's do 2 dansai models, one 1010 for £85 and the 852 for £99. i think the 852 is the better model , but i haven't looked at the 1010 much. The main difference between Dansai and Apex player is the dansai has no trouble playing x(s)vcd burnt discs, so centropys vcds will play fine, and the pal<>ntsc converter is very good (and is macro disabled)

i have a 852 and for playing vcds, its the business. for £50-70 u aint gonna get much to be honest. spend a few quid more and u can get a decent player.

Dansai 852

I bought an 852 after looking on lots of sites. It plays everything i've got (which ain't a lot), but DOES play SVCD. as well as VCD.

Dansai 852 if you can get hold of one get it ...ive tried lots of cheap and expensive standalones and it beats them all with its features and quality of play

cheapdvd players in uk

Lidl the cut price grocer had a brilliant one last week for £79 played dvd,cd,mp3,cd-r,cd-rw-and vcd. i t had an integrated dolby digital decoder for 5.1 surround. It was a supervision 2500.
Trouble was I already have a yelo 800 and paid £180 some months ago...... Sigh

I use a Bush 2004, that is absolutely SUPERB for playing both DVD's, VCD's, SVCDS... in fact just about ANYTHING!!

It's got a built in Dolby 5.1 decoder, and will play jjust baout ANY brand of disk.

I don't think that they are available retail any more, Argos used to do them for around £179.99, then £159.99 on clearance.

Angry

Seems the good times could be over soon. Increasingly, the DVD players coming in from China are having their macro-disabling features disabled!

The new versions of Tesco's Dansai (1010) and Sainsbury's Mico Classica 20 players can still be made region-free using handset codes, but there's no getting rid of the macrovision this way.

Talking

i use a dansai 852 which i got from e-bay for £80.
so far it has played every cd i've put in it.
cd-r,cd-rw,svcd,vcd,mpeg,photo cd,mp3,etc,etc..........the multi-region hack worked too.
an excellent,cheap,all rounder.
