The Passion Of The Christ *FS* *READNFO* - DVDRIP - MPi

Nuked: [The.Passion.Of.The.Christ.FS.DVDRip.SVCD.READNFO-MPi]Reason: High.Bitrate.and.sidebars

...who cares if the nfo says something about the sidebars, that's not neccesary - this one would suck in FS anyways, the fscking subtitles would cover half the screen. Go buy this one - it's worth it (not like Mel Gibson needs more of our $$ though).

6.5/9/10

This aint to bad from what i saw, the high bitrate isn't a problem for me as i can play 7000kbs, and the bars shouldn't be a problem as they wont be visible at all on a TV, but i think theres a lot of people on here afraid to leave they're PC's.

I agree about the FS and Subtitles, Subs always look huge onFS releases.

8/8/8

This should NOT have been nuked. The sidebars are small and unobtrusive, and noted in the nfo. Don't know who MPi is, but they know how to encode just fine. ((edit: I shouldn't say that, since some people have had problems. I really like the max bitrate thing, tho...))

I agree, i always encode my DVD's with small bars all round as it maximizes bitrate and will be hidden behind the TV case anyway.

Just show that the people who are nuking these release dont have a clue either.

yah the black bars aint visible on my tv and as far as high birate goes it plays fine on my dvd player overall i give this rls 8/8/7

Yep, I played the sample on my xbox and the bars are not visible. I don't know what the max bitrate is or if the "high bitrate" issues are real, but this seems like a legitimate release to me.

8/9

I don't think the high bitrate issue is real/a problem, the nfo states it's encoded at 2135KBPS average

Posted by ou812 on 07-23-2004 04:11 PM:

Ya 7000k MaxBitrate skips on my player everytime the avgerage jumps over 2500-3000. Happend to a few releases I d/l like that, where the encoder didnt use the right MaxBitrate.

I'll wait for WS anyhow.

Um ... why are you trying to maximize your bitrate? Shouldn't you be trying to minimize your bitrate for a given quality?

makes sense to me - in that the bitrate will be the same but the picture will be a bit smaller, thus improving the overall quality of the image somewhat.

Posted by Redemption1980 on 07-27-2004 07:18 PM:

yep exactly, prob should of replied sooner.

Mpeg encoding goes on the difference between frames, a black image doesn't change, so more of the bitrate is used on the main picture and thers no point wasting bitrate on stuff u cant see.
