Finally a decent release.. and not a p2p one clik rip bullshit... as their nfo stated.. i seriously doubt those other releases count as "scene" but somehow they managed to end up on some sites.. luckly this one also ended up there.. anyways.. decent bitrate on a long movie.. great release imo - my dvd player plays PAL but ima wait for an NTSC release ....

based on the samples and a few .rar files...

Great quality, but not flawless...
found a glitch at 1hr 16min & 57secs, the part where Lady Elizabeth is looking at the compass - there maybe more - but this is the only one i've spotted

V 7 (would've been higher but for glitch)
A 9
M 10

Yup I concur the glitch is there all right, shame looks good other than that.

What is this so-called glitch?

The picture breaks up into pixelated squares for around 2/10th's of a second - the kind of thing you would associate with a bad burn, cheap media or possibly burnt at too high a speed.
It may not have been there when the source was created by APOCALYPSE - however, the version thats out there now could be a copy of a copy of a copy - so along the way it could've picked up the glitch from someones careless burn or cheap media etc.
It all depends on how & who uploaded & from what source - but sadly the glitch is there & it could've been created a number of ways.
Having sat all the way through the movie now, im 99% sure its the only one & apart from that little hic-up - its a quality copy & looks great, kudos to APOCALYPSE for that.

It does mean its left the door open for a warranted internal or even (dare I say it) 'proper'.
maybe...

how many points did you take away because of the glitch ????

Posted by DeViT on 11-15-2006 08:34 AM:

That glitch is not caused by being a copy of a copy, it is an encoding error if ever I sore one.

Glitch doesn't affect the rls at all.

As Bingo said kudos to APOCALYPSE!

If the glitch bothers you buy the original like you should do anyway.

V - 8.9 (-.1 for the glitch, if you blink you will miss it)
A - 10

haha ha haahaaaa ha

if you're going to bitch about 2 tenth's of a second, and bring a score from what it should be (9) to a 7 for 2 tenths of a second out of a movie that is over 2 hours long, you need to reconsider some things about yourself

Yet another, know nothing, garbage spouting idiot.

Well done.

A flawless job would've got an 8.5 from me - a 9 pass cce, a trim up of the menu & the removal of all the unused stream headers etc would've been a 9, so I dont know where YOU are getting 9 from - perhaps out of your ass?
Do you know anything about DVD authoring??
I always rate movies fairly - thats what this site is for - Hence the name VCD QUALITY, so dont try & make yourself look clever with your useless comments about nothing in particular.
Unless you think this site is purely for childish comments about other peoples opinions?
We've all waited long enough for a decent copy of this film, so when one finaly turns up thats worth bothering with its only fair to give it the rating it deserves beased on its merits/flaws.
As I have already stated the fact about how great the picture quality is in an earlier post - what is your point???

Try listening to people who know what they are doing, like DeVit, for example. The guy obviously knows his 'art' & can have a decent discussion about the DVD authoring skills required to understand my point.

Do you recall the BLUERAY superman returns? It was the best around at the time, however, it was not without its faults & had many 'glitches' throughout. Then once MPTDVD released their R3 people could see what a 'proper' job was. Even the R1 from THP was'nt great AND they fuffed it.
The same thing applies here - a better one will turn up at some point, so until then.... shhhhhhhhhh

Go flame elsewhere, little boy.
This is'nt the school yard, spotty....
Perhaps its you who needs to look a little closer in the mirror?

...7 is a bit harsh, if it were an 8.5 otherwise.
