Picture is really nice But Cannot truly test sound because no one speaks during the sample but street sounds are pretty clear HEHE

v = 8.5
s = 8 i think
pic = about a 7 not really my type of movie Just dont look at the video already

one word NIIICCCEEE!

9.5/9.5/8.5

Video: about as good as it gets! Moved up the food chain w/ this release in my eyes. barely cropped w/ great color.

Sound: near perfect. Has a few flaws w/ it breaking into a tron like sound and a couple thuds.

Movie: was well worth the price of the ticket.

Thanks for the awesome release. I cant see anybody touching this quality. Will hold me over until the DVD is released for sure.

Peace!

PAL. Excellent release by this group. Nice brightness. Although I think their Hostage one looked better. The audio seems more normalized as the loudness doesn't cause distortion. Seemed in sync from the door slam. Will download and see if any problems. Good one Saosin.

incredible thast all i can say.... watched the whole movie sound had about 4 or 5 spots where sound was a bit crackling as if ripper was messin with it a bit and there was maybe 1 black spott he whole move i noticed. As for the sound, the previous 2 releases I saw The Jacket and this from Saosin, I originially thought the sound problem was their fault(the audio skipping every few secs) but I realized it was the VLC player i was using. Its codecs must be somewhat messed up or somethin. I played this using ACE mega codecs after the audio skipped and it worked great. Overall, I give it a 9.7, 9.2, and a 7 for the movie.

All hail king SAOSiN. Another excellent Telesync.

Video - Very nice and clear. Good, vibrant colors, minor darkness around the edges. Good cropping too.
IMO opinion is not quite the quality of their Hostage rls, but is still supreme over any rls out so far. Cameraman jiggles about a bit early on, but settles after r.02. From the early rar's i have seen there are no problems as of yet and i will be watching the full rls now.

Audio - Very nice DTS disc, all in sync as of yet. Real tension builder

Movie - will update once i finish watching

As for the movie I haven’t watched it from start to finish yet. Just skimmed through to make sure everything looked ok and that the sound was in sync. Posted by IRC_Moviefan on 03-22-2005 06:12 PM:

Not much to say about the release thats already been mentioned, skimmed through CD1 and looks pretty sexy. Stopped at a scene and didnt realise my speakers were cranked , not only was it a scene that makes you jump , but it was super loud too (sounds excellent btw) and i almost fell outta my chair

On a Note , something i noticed ... grps like STN has been dragging "scene politcs" into bashing SAOSiN in their nfo , crying they stole their shitty audio. Yet SAOSiN doesnt reply and moves onto next release. This is how "releasing" should be , screw the scene politics , the people who will flame cause they cant compair to SAOSiN, and move onto next release.

You guys got my respect with no flamming & non stop excellent releases. Keep up the great work SAOSiN !

irc_moviefan, I couldnt agree more. I hate it when groups start bashing each other for stealing there audio or whatever. why do groups like STN feel as though its ok for them to steal from the movie companies, but not ok for other groups to steal from them..how ironic. anyway, SAOSIN, keep up the great work. Video and audio on this release are top notch. Can wait to see what your work looks like after youve been doing it for a few months.

While I can somewhat see you point, scene rules are the only thing that prevents flooding with dupe releases. If not I could start my own group, take the audio from one source, clean up the video from another source, run it through a couple filters, mux it and release it as my own. And anyone else could do the same. We'd have 10 TS copies of every release.

So it is kinda honor amongst thieves but for a reason.

Very nice release, very clear and sharp video, and dark scenes are good too, and no angle problems that i could see.

Audio is OK, but isnt DTS sourced, and i only get distortion out my rear speakers, but the Bass is quite good on it, and its clear enough.

Great release, dont know about the movie though.

whats the Twat Factor i hear you say?
Well the Twat Factor is where one or more TWATS feal the need to get up or bob about IN SHOT whyle a movie is playing.

for me this stuff isnt a real problem but for some its Real off putting and i can only guess that this hasnt been said yet because as normal most posters havent seen the whole movie before posting.

It must be a real kick in the nuts for the Cam dude to take the risk in Camming this for us only to have a moe moe Twat bobbing up n down or his m8 stand directly in the frame

okay i have been reading comments in this site for about a year now and in general the comment are spot on, but the last few weeks have pissed me off this IS NOT dts, i think we need to add scores for "watch on pc or tv or and listen through theatre system / tv or pc speakers or wired up to hifi to imitate surround sound". i listened to this through a Sony digital system, but cos it was encoded as anolgue listened to it through standard pro logic, did not come to all five speakers until the last ten mins, therefore not DTS picture watched on a Sony 50" lcd projection and the colours were great. overall good for a TS plus its free so can't complain..

Just sat down and watched this release on my standalone. At no point do people walk across the screen. There are no credits at the beginning of this release, so I don't know if the beginning of the movie is missing or not. Another thing I noticed is that during the last 15 minutes of the movie, the sound drops from hi-fi to mono. It gets very flat and has a low hiss. After watching 90% of the movie in hi-fi, it took a little getting used to, to watch the last 15 minutes in mono. Other than that, and some brief camera adjustments and sound pops in the first 5 minutes of the film, it's a very good release. Much props to SAOSiN for cranking out releases back to back of such good quality.

I still think that people should not vote on audio and video quality until they have watch the whole of the film.

Neversoft not many people even read the first comments, the majority of people only read the comments from people who have actually watched the release all the way through, so they get a true idea of what the quality is like.

Twatfactor = 0 ( as far as i could see).

Video 9
Audio 7 (would have been 8 if not for last 15mins)
Movie 6 (nothin special although I've seen a lot worse)

do you see peoples "heads". I remember watching saosin's release of hostage and I saw a head stand up in the end.

Nice

nice pic, nice sound. Keep up the good work Saosin and as for the people out there that blast these groups for quality even if the pic is dark or w/e how bout you risk your ass and cam a movie or 2 when u can pull that off and have a perfect rls. then and only then should u be allowed to blast another group. Now with that out of the way have a nice day :P

::EDIT:: What an original comment! nobody ever said that on here before (trust me bud, they don't listen) - Neversoft::

No twat factor in this release.

Solid ts. Dark scenes are watchable, not too bad, but noticeable blockiness on those scenes. Overall video is very very nice...Props for great video quality on a dark film...

Audio on the other hand is below par for a TS. Has some crackling throughout it (I assume they are using the headphone jack at the theater, SAOSIN use a gold plated cable and it will fix that problem!), and the end goes to very low audio, cam audio almost, I ran the audio through a normalize filter then rejoined the audio and video so I could watch it without having trouble near the end...

Overall,
Video: 8
Audio: 7 (lost points for non dts direct audio, and the audio problem at the end)
Movie: 8

Your question has already been answered if you bothered to read the rest of the posts ... which is what this forum is for , also it was during the very ending of hostage that a guy got up , not like it was a crutial scene ....... Im sure people stand up in silver's also , just so blurry and grainy you cant make them out

Posted by 104 on 03-24-2005 05:21 AM:

wow love the colour on this. very impressed nice camera. who gives a toss if peeps get up when the qual is like this, i havnt watched it all the way through yet im doing so now. i just had to say somthing because of the quality. thank you very much for this release. if its a silver thanx for finding it quickly if not there shouldnt be no reason for releases of less qual in the future......

vcd or dvd?

hey using "winavi" it says it injects AC3 in the video and every dvd video ive made it seems to say dolby digital on it and sound quality is always excellent

-question is that i can burn this as a vcd with the given bin's and cue's and use a cd'r.....being as this would take quicker and not waste a dvd will the audio still be the same as if i converted it to dvd?

-can using winavi to convert to dvd actually change the quality of the sound, because i can definately confirmed the any avi i pulled off limewire (700mb or so) always came out sounding like dolby digital......will making a vcd use the stereo sound thats included in the mpeg?

-i use isobuster to extract the mpeg then convert to dvd, but do i really need to do all this am i going to get better audio if i convert to dvd? thanks for trying to help

I'll only rate the video because i just skimmed through:

Video: 8.7(seems to kinda flicker a little, or is it just something i only notice)

::EDIT:: You're sooooo lucky You slipped in a rating at the end... Please ask questions in the correct part of the forum, these threads are for comments only. Thanks. Oh, and the answer to your question is "No" you're not really getting better audio when you convert it (just duplicated to more channels I suspect) you'd get a similar effect by just playing the (s)VCD's and using the "fake surround" mode on your amp - Neversoft::

Posted by molecular_man on 03-24-2005 06:07 PM:

Video was good.. For a TS.. Good colour, dark parts were still very watchable.

Audio... I am not sure why some of you are saying it is so bad. Maybe you just have insane systems so you notice it more.

It was clear, sharp and full. Of course I use tv out and watch directly to my TV.. using the TV's audio along with my computer's audio. Some crackles, but nothing horrible and few and far between.

The movie.. It was boring. There hasn't been a good scary movie out in a long time. It moves slowly, it was predictable, it was a waste of time.

WELL DONE AGAIN.........

TWATFACTOR

what IS the Twat Factor i hear you say?
Well the Twat Factor is where one or more TWATS feal the need to get up or bob about IN SHOT whyle a movie is playing.

for me this stuff isnt a real problem but for some its Real off putting and i can only guess that this hasnt been said yet because as normal most posters havent seen the whole movie before posting.

It must be a real kick in the nuts for the Cam dude to take the risk in Camming this for us only to have a moe moe Twat bobbing up n down or his m8 stand directly in the frame

Damn good release

Video: 9
Audio: 9
Movie: 8

Watched on a 27 inch flat screen Toshiba TV. Seemed a *tad* too bright in a few scenes, and the sound crackled once (might be because I had the volume turned up so loud).

thanks muchly for this release!

I have been amazed several times by this group. Releases like this show just how good a telesync can be if they take the time and effort to do it properly. I wouldn't just call this fantastic quality for a telesync, I'd call it great quality for any kind of video. Not only is the picture sharp, they manage to keep "letterboxing" to a minimum.keep 'em coming saosin!!! ...my only negative comment is that this movie was pretty lame!!

Video - 9
Audio - 8
Movie - 4

9/8/4 for a movie that just came out days ago...great quality and sound...but the movie is not that great....very similar to part 1. but saosin is badass...awesome quality on all their releases!

Posted by pjfan281 on 03-26-2005 07:39 AM:

9.5/8/7

audio has periods of popping noises that last about 3-5 seconds. this occurs at about 10 different spots on the first half of cd1. cd2 has some audio issues (it would seem) toward the end. the soundtrack drowns out character dialogue (at the point when the boy eats the sandwich)

other than that the audio was great and picture was fantastic

movie wasnt too great. had some cool special effects, but wasnt half as scary as the first

Posted by saddy on 03-26-2005 07:17 PM:

picture quality is awesome
9.5

audio is generally good, but those popping noises...

the movie was a complete let-down

9/9/but film gets 5

keep up the good work(would be nice to recode to 1 disc lol)

Posted by concius on 03-28-2005 11:41 AM:

The picture was decent, and the sound had some cracks now and then in disk 2. The thing is that the movie was terrible. The plot was both thin and full of holes. I would be here all day if I listed everything wrong about this film. The worst thing is that it was so bad that it made me totally unafraid of the Samara character. After the first movie she freaked me out, but now she is a total joke.

yawns, yawns...and some more yawns. I hoped that it'd be at least half as good a ring 1, but nothing. 1 slightly scary spot and that was it.
let's pray they wont do a US ring prequel.
