Cd-r's? You can go to tigerdirect.com I just purchased

100 dvd+r spindle
25 cd-r spinder
KVM switch
Tax included

Under $60

The kvm switch will be fine i'm sure, cd-rs will be fine i'm sure the cost doesn't make a difference, My exp is that there all the same.

Now dvd-/+r's the price and brand do make a difference. But I am experimenting with different brands. The only brand I have found that I really like is the Sony dvd-r 8x the ones with the white top.

I have tried no name brands They were under $20 for 50 and my first ps2 didn't like em, most dvd players didn't like em, but they were great for ts's and scr's and transfering files from pc to pc.

fujifilm were OK at best
verbatim is great for the PS2.
memorex is ok for some things
ILO was pure crap, some walmart brand my Ex bought me, Half of the dvds burned bad.
TDK i'm testing now

The 100pk I bought for $24 is philips. I'm just testing to see what I like best, The Sony 8x is hard to get in my area now, and i'm VERY sad about that. So that's why i'm trying other shit out.

I have usually had good luck with philips so i figured what the hell.

Now with the three itmes I bought, I spent less at tigerdirect that I would have if I went to newegg.com. So I will stick with Tigerdirect. I compared shopping carts.

Assuming you're in the US....

www.meritline.com (very close to me!)

I've also experimented....

Ritek (I refuse to use because they now suck)
PioData (Good until they became Ritek)
ProDisc (Good until they started to suck)
OptoDisc (Good for now, and cheap as hell)

I'm on OptoDisc right now, they are the cheapest I've ever bought (I only buy inkjet printables btw.)

I like the site, quality is good, service sucks, but orders are out quick, and prices are where they need to be. Basically like a Chinese restaurant.

Really? I just bought a 50 spindle of Ritek G04 (actually from Meritline) and the quality is just as high as it's been in the past. Why do you say they suck? I wasn't aware that they had changed.

For some reason they'll only burn at 2x on my Pioneer 105.

::Edit::
Found this regarding Ritek, 3rd paragraph down. Fuck them in their stupid asses, unless they straighten their shit up, I'll never go back.

ive been getting coasters with the g04...after all the praise i have heard.

i have had like either 0 or 1 coasters with TDK 4x (+ and - R)

and 1 coaster with Memorex (and the 20 pack had 21....AWESOME!)

and FujiFilm no coasters yet...all at 4x

my 8x TDK on a 4x burner work great also.

also verify data when burning dvds

I have more blank DVDs and CDs than I know what to do with. Add in all the cases and we're talking way too much crap.

The last time I ordered was around September of last year. I usually do the Pricewatch.com thing to locate cheaper media.

If you use some of the companies through Pricewatch, remember that not all of the companies have people that understand or can speak English all that well. Why is this important to know? In case you ever need help or need to return something. The aggravation you have to put up with isn't worth it sometimes.

Cheap media can be found there. That's the only reason I put up with it.
