Whats the best DVD player that will play DivX from a usb thumb drive?

If you live in the UK, you can't go far wrong with one of these


That whole site is pretty good and there are lots of alternatives depending on your budget and requirements.

i wouldve agreed with you last year but my DVP642 died and i replaced it with a dvp 5140 and it sucks balls

sorry to hear that zooted but ive had my 642 for over 4 years no probs. I highly recommend philips for quality and budget.

i would buy a 642 again...but i dont think they make it anymore... the pos that they manufacture now isnt worth the box to crap in

Actually went to Best Buy a month ago intending to purchase the Phillips 5960 and since they didn't have any left in stock I ended up getting the Yamaha S661BL which also has upscaling and an usb port for flash drives at the same price which was $69 (The Phillips was on sale for $69 and the Yamaha on clearance for $119 but the sale person got the manager to give it to me at the Phillips price) So far its played all my usb files flawlessly and with the upscaling they've looked excellent on my 42 inch flat screen. I'd highly recommend it to you if you can find one at the same or similar price.

A rather pointless video, and this was posted in another thread..but here: 5960

Note: If I remember correctly, there have only been a few movies (and some shows) that wouldn't work, or display correctly. But I think it was just the way the videos were encoded.
