Spooks

Any Spooks fans here? Are you as pissed off as me? Ending every episode with a cliffhanger then ending the series with the biggest cliffhanger of all.

I hope they quickly execute him and come back with an exciting story about Al Quaeda

The series has ended?

Love spooks. The ending didn't upset me. I'll have forgotten what happened by the time the new series starts. I reckon he'll be saved anyway.

This last series was a top one. Only let down by the "financial" episode a few weeks back. There was never enough threat to life for a spooks episode in that one. One of the few programs that I will try to watch every week, and catch on iplayer or d/l if I can't.

I never gave spooks a chance, its on the 7th season which is putting me off, its a lot of catching up to do. Is it worth my while watching from the start?

Yes definitely, the first series of spooks was by far the best.

Excellent show only starting season 3 but dug into it. Thankfully I'm not having to wait on season to season cliff hangers well worth watching can't believe I never gave it a go before.

Finally got through all seven seasons of spook and I'm well impressed with it. A season or two in the middle wasn't the best.. Season 7 was my favourite. I think what really keeps it interesting is they are not afraid to kill off cast members.

Totally agree, it's like Buffy in that respect that toward the end you didn't know who could die.

What did you think of the Yalta line? That was one of my favourites as it was fairly realistic to show how easily we could have been taken down - and Roz was at her best there.

Though the scene in the first series with the chip fryer was also rather good

I was gutted when Tom Quinn left in season 3 (I think), then just as I start to get used Adam Carter Kablammy. Cool effects by BBC standards though when he got blown up and I will continue to watch.

There are cast members who left early on that were either forced into retirement, fake deathed off or sent packing to Peru that could feasibly return, namely Tom Quinn, Zoe Reynolds and Ruth Evershed. Its just a shame Danny Hunter and Colin Wells (awww poor Colin) can't come back.

Did anyone watch that Spooks Code 9 thing? Looked a bit too much like Hollyoaks for my liking.

Posted by Fuckmonkey on 03-01-2009 05:04 PM:

That was awful when Colin died, those fuckers were really nasty!

Code 9 was the most irritating load of tosh. Nothing but bad scripts, bad set design, some shit Benneton cast and very annoying cut graphics.

The Yalta story was good but I'm liking the cold war type Russia story better. Poor old Harry getting taken should be interesting to see what happens. They can't kill off Harry he is the only original cast member left, can they .
I'm still hopeful on Tom coming back. I did think Zaf would turn up but then they killed the poor fecker. He never got a proper death scene.
The code 9 thing looked like something for kids.

The Iranian line was good too. I reckon Harry will have to come back, he's the only thing that's always held it together. Connie certainly got what was coming to her, the nasty old bitch.
