Time to make an XViD section?

By just looking at the DivX section, you can see that over 75% of the recent releases have been encoded in XViD. I think it is time for VCDQuality to make a seperate XViD section so the DivX releases and the XViD releases can be put in their own sections. Just a thought.

more rational to add a "/xvid" on divx sections. the differences between the codecs it's obvious are slight, having a small benefit using xvid which is equalized by the fact divx is more compatible to most people's software, and no one knows what other variations of divx are goin to show up in the near future

I think really all the section need sorting out. SVCD DVDSCR are put in the VCD section but then AVI DVDSCR are put in the divx section, the same as retail AVI DVDRip. Why not put SVCD DVDSCR in the SVCD section.
They need to be sorted into :-

THEATRE - where all the TS CAM are (maybe even TC), cause these are filmed in the cinema.

SCREENER - all screeners or workprints are here even if DVD or VHS rips, they are still for screening purposes. Maybe this could have sub sections for the VHS and DVD screeners?

DVDRETAIL - this would be split into sub sections with SVCD and AVI, not DIVX cause so many AVI releases are now XVID so just the general AVI would be better. These section would have all the rips taken from the RETAIL DVD, or even RETAIL VHS if we get any of them.

Then the rest of the section as they are now, the XXX and DVD-R and so-on.

VCD section has always been an mpeg1/mpeg2 non-retail page. thats the way its always been. frontpage is most important so the svcd dvdscr's have always gone there. the site is called vcdquality not divxquality, so standalone media is given a bigger push than the mpeg4 derivatives. if you want that site, goto divxquality.com or whatever (hint: doesn't exist) we just run the divx section because people want us to, doesn't mean we have to push it.

as for making an XVID section.. iirc the films are pre'd into DIVX folders still, so i dont see the point.

when the original divx team decided to go closed source and charge a part for its use some developers got ungry and made xvid(divx backwards). the codecs are very similar in nature. think of it as a variation of divx, not a completely different codec.
