Help playing a VCD.

Trying to get the new batman VideoCD release to work but haven't been able to thus far.

The nfo says something along the lines of "ONLY aav can use our video" not quite sure what to make of that.

Any help as in what program or codecs to use would be helpful.

Also I'm using the K-Lite Mega Codec pack if anyone cares. TIA.

It's SVCD.

PowerDVD is all you need.

yep it means only people with the nick "aav" can play their stuff, so you need to change your nick to aav and then you will be sorted.

SVCD's and DVD's are MPEG2 encoded so anything that'll decode MPEG2 is fine. Examples are WinDVD and PowerDVD.

Trying to watch it vbitter.

When I mount the image with daemon and try to load it with power dvd it comes up with "A disc with an unsupported format in drive F:". Little help?

Well there are a few ways to go.

1. Get a codec pack like... SLD or K-Lite Codec packs. These have the MPEG2 codec needed to play the media u are talking about.

2. Use WinDVD or any other DVD player software.

3. Install a MPEG2 codec with out installing a "Codec Pack" or "DVD Software". U could use "Moonlight" MPEG2 codec, but it sucks.

He already said he had the stupid codec pack. And it's obviously not the better solution.

Use #2 or MPlayer (search for it on these forums, I posted a link for a Windows version) or VLC player (google it).

So long as you have the codec installed (and the Codec pack hasn't fucked them all up) then you can use pretty much any playback software to browse to the MPEG2 folder on the CD and double-click the mpeg file in there.

U Codec pack hateing whore.

Hmm.. U could have simply not installed the MPEG2 codec when u installed K-Lite. To find out, do this:

1. Go to MY CONTROL PANEL
2. Go to SYSTEM
3. Go to HARDWARE
4. Go to DEVICE MANAGER
5. Click on Sound, Video and Controllers
6. Click on Video Codecs
7. Click Properties

Here u can see all the codecs u have... Google in the name of the codec to find out what they are for. If u prefer to play ur media in WMP or Real Player or even Quick Time, then codecs are the way to go.

I'm a codec pack hating whore, and always have been.

Can i interest you in the mrlipring-lite medicine pack for the next time you have a headache? There's a bit of everything in it. Perhaps it'll cure you. You never know.

bollocks to everything. go download media player classic. No codecs. Just mount it and play it.
