Subtitles

Not sure if this is the right section but here goes...

I have Comanche moon mini series in 3 parts and the subs that came with it and oters I have found are all out of sync. I have now found some that seem to be in sync which has given me a second issue. I am using convertxtodvd to burn, I add the 1st 2 parts for disc 1 but I then have the problem that I cant seperate the streams for 1 and 2 as they are both in the same folder and windows doesnt recognise it to open it. I tried to add the same file to both parts 1 and 2, part 1 worked perfectly but part 2 had no subs?

Any ideas anyone, I am no pc expert so laymans terms would be appreciated if anyone has any ideas, ROFL

maybe separate the two, then add them one by one and see if that works

Thats the problem, windows wont open the folder as it doesnt know what created it, I cant even get in with windows explorer so I have been unable to split them

Are you sure it's a normal folder and not an archive in a format that you can't open, like a .7z or .rar file?

Its not a rar, no idea what the other file you mentioned is though?

The files work fine I just cant open them whatever they are?

My problem is having 2 parts of the film but only 1 part for the combined subs and the lack of tech knowledge to split them

Posted by yoshy on 03-21-2008 11:14 PM:

so you have 2 avi files and one subtitle file to suit both?

then add the subs to both, then split the movie in half and extract the subs again......how to?.....dunno

good luck

How many sub files and AVI's do you have ?

1 sub and 2 avi's ?

Join the avi's together then add the subtitle file.

You dont. Use virtual dub its a free program for video editing.

download and install it , then.

1.open part 1 of your movie
2.Go to the file tab , append segmant , then open second part of movie.
3.Go to the video tab , select "direct stream copy.
4.Go to file , save as avi.

Let it do its shit , proberly take a minute or two... And presto you've got 1 video file.
