Well here it is boys and girls step right up. I would first like to say thank you to FTF for bringing this bad boy out so early great job on that. Heres how the quality is. This is def a ts because the sound is pretty clear. The picture is fuzzy kind of like an old ask movie. But ill be the first to say it is very watchable and its 7 days early. So once again thank you ftf.

These guys at FTF are a great bunch of people, and they do their best to rls. They do it for you.
You know i like to flame these guys as much as n e one else but this is a "watchable" release so if u really want to see this flick asap, d/l this. As usual ctp with out due ftf and make a wicked release which is kinda sad for the people at ftf who get these movies so fast

Man, people shouldn't flame any group. this shit is free, and not exactly the easiest thing to do for the release groups (get vcd releases or whatever out, considering probly episode 2 has good security and shit to prevent such a rls..)
If you don't like the quality, wait for another or go rip the movie yourself. ohoho, not so easy is it?

I really would suggest actually seeing the release - ay LEAST the sample - before make comments in this forum about quality [or lack thereof] of releases. (my 2 bits worth - This release is not a TS - and I HAVE seen the sample AND the release.)
I am assuming from many of the comments that most [if not all...] have seen neither.

Is it just me or are most of the posts nowadays giving props to groups for releasing? I mean, isn't that a given? This is a vcdquality site/forum, not a props.to.rls.groups site/forum.

The Sample looks good I give it a 7 or maybe a 8. a 10 for being the first to release it and 10 days before the theaters. Its awsome next time you guys should take a day to make the video/sound BETTER if you can release it better video/quality who cares if you are first or second the BEST Quality Wins the Race!

I hope they release an SVCD, why not? So they can release a crappy VCD that doesn't have the audio syncronized? At least with the SVCD you can resample it to a VCD, it's not possible to get SVCD quality from a VCD...............................................................................................

Svcd's rule, way better than vcd's. If your dvd player can't handle them then use vcd gear and watch it on your computer.
Hopefully ctp will make a aWEsome svcd of this.

Yes bring it on CENTROPY SVCD's rule! I thought Spiderman was great I don't mind all the extra cd's even better when you can just put it on a DVD-RW God I love my Apex!
Well I saw the sample to this release.
Sound is good, not great but no noise in the background or anything, and no hollowing either from what I heard, the Vid quality could have been better, pretty grainy, and unless it was just the scene of the sample, it looked a little blue to me.
But VG quick Rls of this, I never expected to see this 7 days before its rls date. Nice job bringing it out.
As a side note, I got a copy of SW EP I when it came out with Subs, but as far as I can see its a VCD, but I swear whoever did this (have to check to see if it has a group attached to it) knew what to do, it looks like a DVD rip like LOTR did, and when this was out, there was no DVD version out or even being talked about...
But Now I can watch this with my kids and they'll be bragging at school big time! Thanx FTF.

FTF gets their releases out pretty quick, but i say they really release some better quality stuff..

Damn it's good to hear ya say that Octane! FTF is the siznit in my book. The quality is as good as I've seen from any TS....even though I believe it's a CAM. I only saw the sample, but from what I can see the quality is VERY watchable.
Now, why in the fuck is everyone soooo pro-ctp? I mean, they're a great relase group, from what I've seen of their stuff. But they make grainy stuff too. Look at Blade II. This EP2 vcd looks every bit as good as that rls. Considering this thing is a week early, and the sound is pretty damn good, I can forgive a little video grainyness. I haven't seen the other rls yet, so I can't comment on it, but for this one....from what I've seen...I give it 7/7.

This is 6 days before release of not just one of the biggest movies of the year, but one of the most important movies of all time ! Any star wars film rls'd before retail is a godsend, but to get it 6 days before a theatrical release?
Maybe y'all need to learn something about gratitude and respect. FTF bust their ass to bring you this, and all you can think about is Centropy.
Maybe you ought to look at the recent release list, sure centropy do big films, sure they do them well, but they DONT owe you an SVCD of every film you want. You want a SVCD TS ? then you risk your ass and go make one. Stop using the thread of another groups release to moan and complain. If you got the FTF release , say if you enjoyed it or not, thats what the thread is for, not begging.
I checked the sample, and seemed a perfectly watchable release, but i think personally i'll goto theater to watch it, and then get a print afterwards. Peace

this thread is for people to rate and speak of the QUALITY of FTFs release, discuss problems with it, and even so people (like me) with limited bandwidth know if they should bother getting it or not. It is NOT to argue about centropy releasing. So why dont all you people going on about centropy just stfu.
Great on the speed as usuall FTF, hopefully there are some more actuall opinions on the quality so i can decide if i wanna bother getting it or not.

Sound is okay, not much to say about it.
Picture is hmm...it looks mediocre on PC but ok on a TV with standalone dvd-player (i burned the sample to a cd-rw to check this :P)
So, i'd say go for it.
I've been sitting here waiting for someone to get me mad enough to explode and say how I felt about all you "Wanna-be Scene Groupies."
(I know pHo already posted his feelings, but I was typing this right as he submitted, so I'll write mine anyhow.)
Let me school you in a few fucking things:
Anyone of you that calssify themselves as "Centropy Groupies, or Scene groupies" (ie: You don't have leech/ratio and you sit on #0davcd all day looking for releases. Or, You have a site, but eagly need to move from your 10MBIT ratio to a comfy "100mbit leech" and you think that sucking up to the group will make you get it.) Well, you're a groupie.
Groupie(s) people should want to give respect to whomever, because in this scene, names only matter to the children. A release is something that comes from sweat, sleepless hours, and commitment. I'd take a Webcam of this movie from any group just for the meer fact that it is one week early.
What troubles me about you guys, is that you have no respect. It's like iSONEWS dropped off all their "Newbie Flamers" at our door. Don't get me wrong, some of you are okay. But there's about 11 I can name off hand I actually read. Then the DOZENS of other people that I either, Warn/Ban/Purge/etc etc etc.
FTF may not be the best, but they're trying to get up there. Remember John Q (CAM) FTF about 2 months~ ago? I couldn't see shit. Now 2 months(~) later I see, another Extremly early print, of another Blockbuster movie. But wait, there's more. I can see it, and I sure as hell can hear it. Look at TMMVCD's latest movie Duces Wild (CAM) the sound sounds like someone is in a barrel yelling curse words to a nun! I didn't see you kids run up 50+ posts on BITCHING did I?
So take it where you can, and give respect to those who deserve it. If you can't do that, then go fuck yourself and say "I" so I can ban you.

1. This movie is yours to get SEVEN (7) days before theater release
2. This movie will probably be the most popular movie of the summer
3. Again, the quality is very watchable for a Early ts, and i reinstate the fact that its 7 days early..., compare this release to an older (2 months) ftf release and you will see great increases in quality..
And people immediatly say "Heh, ftf, why do you bother".... and "I'll wait for the centropy release"

People That Bitch about the quality are unreal - if you want quality go get in line at your local theatre and pay to see it or any other movie that is released.

Sorry for my extra 2c on this, but seeing this post swell to 4 pages and what I see I too will comment on a few things:
1) Centropy is a Good rls group, true. BUT there not Gods, they fuck up as well.
2) Like everyone says SEVEN DAYS early. So STFU.
3) Dont like FTF? Fine. Then why do you bother commenting? To waste space on a forum that could use better constructive writing then "Dont bother".
4) An SVCD of a VCD isnt going to look any better (Whoever said that is right). I could have re-made the Centropy a VCD and the quality would have been the same.
5) "E" is for Effort put into it by a group. I got a few of there rls's and they are NOT that bad, yes could be better but still.
6) At and MOST Important: Its FREE people!!! If your selling them and thats why you bitch then you should be shot, if its for personal viewing, then stop complaining unless you see a blue screen and echoing audio. Most of us here get to see this shit way before the majority of the population.
So remember personally we have no right to bitch or put any group down. I dont care who comes out with it, if its clear and watchable then I am happy. U want a DVD release? Then wait for it to come out on DVD and stop your whaling.

regarding the quality i must say i was real scared the first 90 secs or so when the sound was screwed up, but as soon as that passed everything was cool. no, this is not as good as spider-man, but it's damn much better than the release of episode 1 was. don't get it or stop bitching.
i'd say the picture quality is watchable and the sound is ok. nothing more, nothing less.

Well, movie looks like ass IMO. Gives me a headache after watching for 15 minutes on my Apex 3201 hooked up to a 32" Toshiba in the bedroom. Sound is acceptable but the picture is way too blurry, looks like they filmed it through a patio door covered in vaseline. Regardless, it'll be wicked as hell in the theater, as Episode 1 was, and I wouldn't miss Lucas' THX lovin' for the world. I don't care about who's suckin' whose dick and who's the CTP or FTF fanbois.
No props to anyone, you do this stuff of your own free will, gee thanks.
As for the Spiderman SVCD release, screw it. They released it as a 3 CD SVCD, it's not like anyone gets paid to do this shit (except maybe tearing tickets at the door), so just consider yourself lucky that they even offered their copy to the world. You could just as easily be watching that cam copy that came out before CTP's.

I got my copy at 12 PM PST yesterday I took a Peek at the quality.... WOW...... I still remember some earlybirds... This is some "Special" quality Ill leave it at that... i have some mixed results about this release the video is watchable and getter than some and the audio is good and clear but in some parts it just cuts out but the parts it cuts out in not much is happening!

Sound is fine, pic quality is watchable (normal FTF style) but I'm sure CTP will come up with something more decent ... I'm still impressed with FTF's speed ... you guys should get a better camera!

guy guys you should of saw some of the shit i used to get 25 years ago, you could hardly watch the thing, flickering between colour and black and white but you thought it was fantastic that you had something on video that was on at the cinema.

Long-time reader, first time poster - considering the fact that I am able to see this a week in advance, while sitting in my La-z-boy, as long as its watchable, I'm happy. And it is! I've downloaded far, far worse in the recent past. Everyone who's bitching about the quality is obviously no Star Wars fan. Relax - by mid-summer, there will be probably 10-15 different versions of varying quality - this is only the first. Thanks to FTF for allowing a Star Wars fan a chance to see something I've been waiting three years for a little early. (And I'll still be in line at midnight next Thurs.!)

The Sound will cut in and out, not very often tho....also when it does usually nobody is speaking, there were only one or two times when it interfeared with voices..

So if people are "bitching" about audio or visual problems, then good. I am more informed if the copy is decent or not. When the posts start to say "Quit sucking Centropy's nuts!!" or "FTF blows donkey balls!!" it isn't helping anyone. Maybe we need a new topic "Release Group Flame Forum". Then I wouldn't have to visit it. Also I do find it informative when people say certain releases are out of sync/not playing correctly on certain DVD players. But to continually rant that "none of their shit ever works on my Pioneer (e.g.) ", well thanks but we figured that out the first time you told us. Tell us again when they DO work on your DVD player. My $59.95 Apex 1200 hasn't had a problem yet. I intend to find the hafVCD release of this movie, simply because the screenshots look clearer, and from the handful of intelligent and useful posts in this thread. Lets all pretend we're mature adults and stick to rating movies.

i cant have dvd player problems. i have a napa dav31- vcd/cd/mp3 player, a dreamcast vcd player (retail w/ video buffer, remote, and reciever, and bootcd), and a mintek 2580, also, a sony and a daewoo.

Quality isnt great, but of course having it at such an early date compensates for that, to be honest i didnt think much of ftf before this release, but now i have as much respect for them as any group, the movie is definately watchable, id give it 8/10 overall, and big props to ftf for this great release, hope to see more coming from em

ok eight pages worth of posts....seems like EVERYONE that is registered to have a "voice" on forum apparently has added their two pennies so what the hell why not exercise my voice too. I’ll address this in two sections: the movie itself and the extra bitching about the SWEP II rls.
THE MOVIE
The movie sound is good however there are a couple spots were your thinking if the sound is ever going to come back, there is a little bit of background fuzz….not a big deal at all…picture is good enough to view, however it doesn’t do the CG special effect any credit…hell just watch a commercial…..this especially disappointing when yoda is beatin some ass with a lightsaber.
THE EXTRA BITCHING
#1 its 7 days before the rls. What else do you people want? Actually have the release locked in a suitcase handcuffed to your arm? To actually sit-in on production, maybe whisper little suggestions into Lucas’s ear? Design the special effects sequences yourself? DAMN one week early for a movie that many were waiting for 1 nanosecond after the credits rolled for SWEP I, and keep in mind that was 3 years ago!!
#2 To the people bitching about the quality of this vcd…..STFU….if you have posted before me and have watched the movie then you must have a respectable d/l rate….its not that you had to sit there and watch it transfer, you could do other things…like go to bed *just a suggestion* so what else is there to bitch about… that it is taking HD space? Then burn it or trash it…..and if you trash it then you cant bitch about waiting to d/l in your haste to get your hands on it….
#3 if your waiting for a “better rls” either just burn this copy and hang on until a better one works its way out or whatever….hell I bought a 100 pack of TDK cdrs the other day for 17 bucks that’s 34 cents for this movie unlike the 6.50 ill pay in a week to see it on the ”silver screen” *although my VEGA does a great job *

FTF deserve respect for this release considering how early they have got this out on the scene! The quality is watchable and all in all its not a bad release given its a week before release. Think about this FTF are very fast at releasing these movies, givin better funding to get better cams FTF will knock CTP off their pedestall one of these days, they have great potential! All you people stop tounging centropys balls and give respect where it is due!

Ok I just sat down and tried to watch this. I could only stand it for 10 minutes. The picture is very washy, the audio is very hallow. Looks like some piece of shit bootleg of the street. Im going to wait for a better release and until then just go to the movies and see it. I'll give ftf props for bringing out this release as quick as they did. Other than that anyone who hasnt wasted any bandwidth on this stay away from it.

im having troouble converting a movie from svcd to vcd. I have deuces wild, but i want to convert it to vcd. I installed the nero mpeg2 svcd plug in, and changed it to vcd. However, the sound is off by at least a minute. can u tell me why? or better yet, can you tell me a program and how to use the program so i can convert svcd movies to vcd.

Definitely watchable, sound comes in and out, definitely not the best screener (CTP's Spidey is my favorite, both for quality and quickness - BTW if you like Spidey support the filmmakers and buy a ticket even if you don't go to the theatre - that's what I did and do). The movie's better than Ep 1, especially the last 40 minutes, but it still has no grace and real wonder in it (you know, like we see in movies like Star Wars!)

But we have to remember something ... most of us are not teenagers like we were with the first 3 movies. Episode 2 was ok - I rank it about the same as Return of the Jedi. But I just didn't get the old feelin anymore. Propably never will and thats not really Georges fault. I am just no longer target audience.
Also spiderman. I donwloaded it becouse I read all the great "peoples" reviews. Well, it was very well done but you have to be a real super fan of the spiderman if your over 17 years of age and thought the movie great.

Fast FTP
Anybody has a pretty fast FTP. THe one I am D/L from says it will be 28 hours to finish D/L it. And I have DSL!!!
Even tho there are a lot of people bitching here, whats they have to remember is there watching this flick a week before it comes out
I spent 4 days getting this on my 56k modem because my local cinema wont have it showing for weeks (the joys of living in a small town )
at the end of the day it was far from perfect but it wasent un-watchable.
I watched the movie, enjoyed it, and im still gonna go see it when my local cinema gets it because thats the only way to fully enjoy a movie like this

I have been messing around with the FTF version of the film with TMPGEnc I have not been able to really get it good yet. Has anyone been able to make a good version out of it using it. If so could you please send me your setup template you made for it. I would really appreciate it. TIA

FTF - I got your release the Sunday before last. Thank you for letting me see the complete film four days before most people where I live. Your release was supremely watchable, and added to my enjoyment of this movie, as it was like a full-length teaser for me.
