Saw the sample a couple of minutes ago..very good quality both picture and sound (what else to expect from TCF? )

well done guys!

8/8/5

My biggest Respect goes tu TCF!

I hope this isn't a fake!

Posted by Mystic Slippe on 12-13-2002 03:40 PM:

Props for the majorly fast rls. We all knew it was floating around out there in movieville since the report in the press (re: Flexplay).

Haven't seen the sample, but no doubt it'll be great. I'm a bit disappointed with the nf0 though, i was hoping for a little info on any problems with ripping the DVD (again re: Flexplay).

Still, well done and thanks.

very nice rls =)

Posted by BLOODUK on 12-13-2002 03:45 PM:

fuck me....... the quality looks amazing nice one TCF!

Posted by Pzykotic on 12-13-2002 03:48 PM:

Great release, TCF, and a funny slam to V****CD . Packeting is lame, just as a general rule. Why bite the hand that feeds you? Crazy kiddies.

Anyway, in regards to the above post, the DVD screener wasn't on the FlexPlay self-destructive DVD, that DVD was just promotional materials (trailers, high rez photography for magazines etc).

Can't wait to get this one, I hope the current momentum of DVD screeners continues!

Just a sidenote here, I wish that the DVD-R scene would take off in a major way with DVD screeners - Getting the LOTR:FOTR Esoteric DVD-R release at the beginning of this year was such a thrill, especially with the 5.1 soundtrack and just general DVD-R goodness. Maybe TCF can supply their source to a respectable DVD-R group (boozers?) to create a DVD-R release and really kick off that (somewhat) new genre!

Posted by kindrid on 12-13-2002 03:50 PM:

wow!
jpgs dont do the sample justice
i think should redo the jpg and dont compress so much this release deserves it

Posted by Vtec on 12-13-2002 03:51 PM:

Sweeet release! Don't be fooled by the jpeg (which looks like anus), the sample is superb! Props TCF, one thing though.. I think you guys made a mistake in the nfo, this release has no counter (which makes it even better, judging from the sample only).

Posted by VCDz on 12-13-2002 03:56 PM:

Props on speed and quality! Especially on speed!

1. Star Wars "April Fools" joke
2. Blade 2 Centropy NFO was uploaded after someone received it via email and didn't bother checking it was real. 3 hours later, the real thing comes out anyway (totally different nfo!)
3. Austin Powers 3 "Screener" was accidentally added.

every so often you'll get a fake rls by accident, but then there's an argument and it'd be deleted quickly.

Posted by Dspot on 12-13-2002 06:03 PM:

beautifully fast release, too bad this movie sucked ass. I saw it in the theaters hoping to see a good Bond movie, this is the worst of the pierce brosnan series in my opinion. He sucks as Bond anyway. Halle Berry is the only good thing in the whole movie. Damn she sexy.

great release, one of the more entertaining bond movies

brosnan bonds
1. Goldeneye
2. Die Another Day
3. Tomorrow Never Dies
4. The World Is Not Enough

die another day is better than goldeneye in many ways but overall goldeneye is better imo

No, that movie sucked ass. I don't know how anyone managed to see the original and "now THIS is how the movie should been done!"

Though it is interesting that there hasn't been a better quality release. Maybe groups could have done one and just didn't because it's too crappy to waste their time on?

ah, sorry about that...i'm going half-blind! The release is great, havent watched the film, top notch sound but colours are slightly off but i'll let TCF off this time

In the .nfo it states about the homemade TS, i say release it...sure you may have been the 8th group or so, but if the releases get better in quality...then its all worth it. Looking at 8-mile, it will do until a dvd is out, surprassing the quality of screener (in my eyes...especially for the WS)...TCF are doing fantastic atm, keep it up guys

what else would you expect

TCF has clearly shown itself to be the best group out there. I dont particularly care that there are some screeners out there, Quality alwyas comes first, and TCF continuously give the quality. Dont even need to check the jpgs or the rating, if its a tcf release, you know its got to be good quality.

Brillient work TCF, the chosen few really are raising the bar for other groups.

Can whole heartedly say that I agree... doesn't happen often.. but over the past couple of years I can honestly say that TCF has made a consciousness effort in regards to releasing quality over quanitity... such an effort should be applauded and respected... most groups are quick to release for credits where they show no effort in regards to quality where TCF has done otherwise...

Thanks tcf... not for name droping or scene limelight... but just from an appreciative viewer who enjoys what you share with the community

Because their lame reencodes

Posted by Mr_Grinch on 12-14-2002 01:55 PM:

Got the sample, very very nice, unfortunately, not being a 3l33t person I have to pay the price:

-XDCC-0125- *** All Slots Full, Added you to the main queue in position 49 of 50. To Remove youself at a later time type "/msg XDCC-0125 xdcc remove".
and

-XDCC-0125- You have been queued for 0 hr 1 min, currently in main queue position 49 of 50. Estimated remaining time is 51 hr 19 min or less. To remove yourself type "/msg XDCC-0125 xdcc remove".
Oh well. I take it from everyone else it's worth the wait

Well, at least I have the Charlie Brown Xmas special to watch till then.

You're ignorant. DVL is TCF's divx affiliate as BooZerS is their dvdr affililiate. They either share vobs or an encoder does all 3 version, I'm not sure of their methods but I know it's not a re-encode.

If you know anything about encoding you'll know that there's nothing to worry about for a dvd2svcd rip .....

Only thing they might be able to track is the source... if they included some hidden watermark or data on the dvd .... that's about it...

Again... this does not effect anyone with the dvdrip ... only the source...

thanks ... i guess my secret is out .. i know nothing about encoding ... but then again ... most don't

brilliant...9/9/9

Posted by skankyhoe on 12-15-2002 04:39 AM:

awesome quality, even more so considering that the movie has only been out a few weeks in the UK --it phsyically hurt me watching the dark VideoCD version and whilst the UTi version was the best before this encode, the intro really annoys me and the whole movie didnt look right (was good for a CAM though)

9/9/10 (or 9/9/8 if you dont like the aston martin vanquish car and the chase sequence its in)

TCF = quality encodes.

Posted by psychoace on 12-15-2002 05:56 AM:

love the quality only time i seen any bad scenes were in the ice where bond is running away in the rocket car i can see lines and junk like that (i only seen it on pc havn't played it on my dvd player yet.) Otherwise quality is excellent even in the opening sequence with the madonna song in the background (which reminds me audio is also extremley superb). I seen cd2 in my dvd player and it all runs smooth and perty tcf did a great job.

mAd respect for TCF. They always revive the scene in slow times and once again prove themselves the best damn group around. Video is fantastic and audio is just as good. No counters which is always a plus. Movie is not so good though, not one of the best bond movies. Keep up the work TCF, it may not seem as though but some of us really do appreciate the hard work groups do.

Audio: 9/10
Video: 9/10
Movie: 6/10

im sure its the codec that i need. Could anyone tell me what codec(s) i need? and where i can get them.

Cheers

Its because its SVCD, download a MPEG2 codec or a software DVD player like powerDVD.

Yet another amazing rls from the guys at TCF! Props on the sort time lapse between TS and SCR. Very nice encode both video and audio a clean and crisp. The movie is not as good as the quality IMO which is unfortunate.

P.S. MatrixKid this is not the place for that kinda post and you can find that nfo almost anywhere so try and do some reading on your own first next time or post in the correct place. BTW the xvid copy will proably be better for you if your not going to watch on a stand alone. Save yourself a CD.

Question souns synch is off

great release! but the sound is lagging about 2 seconds....what is wrong? did anyone else get a sound lag and how does one fix it? TIA

:: sounds like u have hardware problems -pHo

Posted by tmorrell on 12-17-2002 01:51 AM:

Great quality on this one.

Anyone having trouble converting this to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc Plus?

:: SVCD *IS* MPEG2 .. why would you need to convert it? unless you're confused with MPEG1(VCD) -pHo

Posted by neomatrix on 12-17-2002 03:46 AM:

this is just amazing!

Posted by backoff on 12-17-2002 05:18 AM:

Out of sync. Mine is out of sync I just extracted teh bin and cue and used VCDGear to unpack it and it was out of sync. Maybe it is my mpeg-2 codec im gonna install another to see if that fixes it.

Posted by misfits138 on 12-17-2002 07:22 AM:

this release is awsome! the jpegs make it look pixelated but the real deal is crisp and perfect.

nice job.

9/9/6 oh and 11 on quickness.

sometimes using a SVCD codec and WMP or other players can do this

its not out of sync when u burn as a SVCD and play via DVD player or DVDplayer software

Nice quality

To anyone thinking about getting this release:

I'd totally recommend it. It's gonna be the best release until the actual dvd rip comes out. I'm not even gonna bother with the dvd rip. The only flaw is that every 30 minutes or so you'll see message popping up telling you that it's meant for awards review. But that's minor. All in all this release was pimpin'.

Hats off to TCF.

Mak.

Posted by skankyhoe on 12-17-2002 02:31 PM:

yeah theres about 8 or so of those message, not too annoying considering nothing of a better or even similar quality copy of the film will not be released anytime soon.

Posted by Mak Man on 12-17-2002 03:53 PM:

Cool

There may be 8 or more posts like mine from above, but they're all there to acknowledge the hard work and effort TCF puts into releasing quality movies.

If no one ever acknowledged there work, then they might stop releasing quality movies all together.

Mak.

those messages only stay up for like 8 seconds so they don't bother you at all.

i think this release is better than that lord of the rings dvd screener from like a year ago that made everyone drool.

sound problems

hi guys, i just got this release, and i burned the first cd, and when i put it in my apex ad1500 dvd player, the sounds is all fucked up. there is really loud crackling, and the actual sounds is REALLY quiet in the bg. i extracted the mpg from the bin and cue file and played it w/ windvd and its perfectly fine. then i tried burning the mpeg w/ nero, and i still have the same problem when i put it in my dvd player. can someone please tell me whats wrong?!

Posted by Mak Man on 12-19-2002 05:02 AM:

There's something wrong with your dvd player. I have an Apex 700 and it work fine. Since it's an Apex, try upgrading the firmware. I think you can find help with that on www.vcdhelp.com.

Mak.

Posted by jfred79 on 12-19-2002 05:58 AM:

Try burning the bin file with nero and see how that help. That is what I have done and it works fine for me. Make sure that you use Raw format when burning. A few costers are well worth this release.

Best thing since 'sliced bread' - kicks Triple x's @$$ any day.

9/9/8

Although, it's not the best Bond ever.

Posted by Mak Man on 12-23-2002 09:15 PM:

You gotta admit that the car fight was pimpin'. Jag vs. Aston Martin. I think that scene made the movie.

Mak.

Posted by huntdubie on 12-24-2002 07:42 PM:

true that it isn't the best bond movie. but i will say it is brosnan's best bond movie (right up there with goldeneye).

on another subject... W00T! Friends coming back for another season! W00T!

Posted by VincentVegaFFF on 12-29-2002 09:16 PM:

Tanin: You need the AC3 codec.

how does 3 800mb files fit on 3 cds??

ok i want to know how, the bins are around 800mb each, so how can u possibly burn cd1 cd2 cd3 bins to 3 individual cds wen they do not fit??? surely they need to be 700mb? or u have to burn to 4 vcds?

:: goes by tracklength (mode2) rather than filesize (mode1) so yes, they will fit fine. -pHo

um... actually, pho, it goes by space the same as mode 1 does; ppl are just used to saying 'it goes by length' when talking about vcd, since vcd is CBR & therefore the same length will always have the same size. obviously, with vbr, higher bitrate = bigger file = less track time you can fit onto one disc, so it's still going by size, not length.

the reason is sector size. normal data discs store fewer bytes per sector, because there is a part of every sector reserved for crc information (for error checking), the idea being that it's a lot less critical for a movie to have a couple of single-bit errors, than for an application (for instance) to have them, since one wrong piece of information can render a program inoperable, whereas you probably won't even notice on a movie, unless there are a lot of them. so, a 700meg / 80 min cd actually holds more than 800 megs of data... it's just that when writing a normal data disc, a chunk of it is used up writing redundant information.
