rip is good....

for a dvdr:

9.5/10/6

could have been a little better in the video but the downsampling i didn't notice too much.

too bad the movie sucked big time. i went to the theater for it and boy what a waste of money.

no complaints on this one. and air1, how can you say the movie was a waste of money, but give the movie a 6? anywho. seeing angelinas boobies is worth a watch by itself

10/10

jmur:

i'm such a movie buff that it's extremely hard to rate a movie below a 5 or so not to mention i'm such a big fan of the thriller/(kinda)horror genre that this movie falls into that i gotta give it a little bit of props cause it did have some decent parts but overall it truly was a waste of money and no greater than a 6. angelina jolie can die for all i care - i hate it when ppl like some actress just cause they've got a nice figure. i've disliked Jolie ever since she did the Tomb Raider movies and that's cause Tomb Raider wouldn't have ever made it to the bigscreen had the main character been an Indiana Jones-type character. hell, it wouldn't have even sold well or had any video game sequels if it wasn't some chick with big tits. the movies wouldn't have done well either (let alone ever been made) had they not been some chick with nice tits. this makes me automatically dislike her so her breasts being visible in Taking Lives isn't a big deal.

btw my hating of Jolie has nothing to do with my rating of the movie, though -- i just felt like going off on your comment about seeing her tits in the movie.

the video on this release is a little grainy from the sample though even some untouched video sources have that and that's why i think video should get a 9.5. just thought i'd add that from my other post.

lax01: that always pisses me off as well, but despite the fact that they can't say, it's a good rip.

Heard the movie is kinda shitty, but we'll see.

9/10/?

Hehe... Ya, BooZers should enter the bit rates...

Here is my picky point of view on this release:

Good rip! I was kinda of scared when I saw the vague NFO file (extras = not all, downsampled = yes)... Things turned out good IMO. They kept the damn trailers But I am getting used to that minor annoyance and usually just do a re-rip without the trailers.

Video... Nice stuff... Quick bitrate math (only for those that are interested in learning... Don't want a "thanks Einstein" post response):
(4.06GB * 1024MB/GB * 1024KB/MB) / (109min * 60sec/min) will give you 650.95KB/sec. Multiply that by 8 to get it into Kbit/sec which is 5207Kbit/sec. Subtract the sound (448Kbit/sec) from that and you get 4760kbit/sec for the video. Which on a 2.35:1 movie such as this, is good/real good

Video 9.5/10 - Still not perfect, but damn nice!!
DVD-R 9.5/10 - I do wish the trailers would go. But that is my only beef. Great job overall!

nice release good to see some of the extras still intact.

10/10/8 movie was actually good.

No need to re-rip without trailers or put up with them. Here's how to kill 'em dead easily (I've already got The Big Bounce and Starsky and Hutch DVDRs so don't need to see the trailers for those ).

Mount the image using Daemon Tools and using DVD Decrypter in File mode extract the files to your hard drive. Using IFoEdit go to VTS_03_0.IFO -> VTS_PGCITI -> VTS_PGC_1. Scroll down to PGC Command Table. Change Pre Command to 3 and Post Command to 0

At the end of the movie is an FBI warning. To kill this go to VTS_01_0.IFO -> VTS_PGCITI -> VTS_PGC_3. Scroll down to PGC Command Table. Change Pre Command to 28 and Post Command to 0

Make a brand new image using IMG Tool Classic and burn using DVD Decrypter with verify on.

It took me between about 5 to 10 minutes to figure out how to jump the trailers. But Boozers are in a race (against nobody probably) and can't spare a few extra minutes. I now never burn any DVD without looking around it first and if there are any opening trailers before the menu I kill them before burning.

Hehe... That's what I meant by re-rip without the trailers... But thanks either way! I do hope certain release groups read your post and learn from it hehehe... It would be nice to see these releases spent the hard earned bit-rate on movie/extras rather than trailers.
