Waiting proper

Posted by inferno12 on 09-03-2004 09:47 PM:

look who learnt encoding
when i saw 640 x 352 and ac3 5.1 in the nfo i said a big "wow!".
but it didn't take long...
i think that the dvd is interlaced NTSC so a deinterlace filter should have been applied... (i don`t know exactly how to rip such kind of dvds).
i think we will se good rips from dvp soon.

Uuhm, i dont see anyting wrong with the picture. If you look carefully this "interlace" people complain is because the actual sourcefootage in some case are interlaced
!

Actual picture seems just fine !
I didnt see anything wrong with the encoding.

Posted by kwyjibo on 09-03-2004 11:55 PM:

There are too many fucking morons on this board. The only bits that are interlaced is the shaky cam footage which is interlaced on the source.

Posted by sar on 09-04-2004 10:34 PM:

this release is fine

eh.. I don't see why this was nuked for being interlaced - I just sat through the entire movie, and did not notice any interlacing - perhaps there was some interlacing in some of the tv-clips featured in the movie, but the actual movie is not interlaced.'

I do think the volume is too low - I play it out of my crummy SB soundcard, and at full volume it's just a tad too low for comfort.

Sar, that's your audio codec .. I think it's AC3 on this release, so that's probably why it was bad on yours

Posted by Frag1le on 09-05-2004 01:13 PM:

This aint interlaced!

Posted by sar on 09-05-2004 07:46 PM:

Thanks for the advice lab - I used videolan player though, so that can't be it (videolan has all codecs built-in). Other AC3 encoded movies are fine.

Heh, I just grabbed this to check, turns out its perfectly aok. Grab if you can, ain't nothing wrong with it.

sar: PEBCAK, setup ac-3-filter properly and you'll have all the volume you need.

Read this.

Oh and uncheck 'Use DRC'.

Posted by Redemption198 on 09-08-2004 01:13 AM:

Just saw these posts, theres nothing wrong with the picture or sound on this release, the only dodgy bits are the news stuff, the bits filmed by Moore look perfect.

As for the sound, it is a bit lower than other AC3 releases and alot lower than all mp3 ones, but it was probably recorded that way on the DVD, either turn it up or mess with with the Dynamic Range Compression settings.

Whats the matter with everyone ,this copy is perfectly OK.
interlaced (no)
ok not the best rip in the world and no AC3 Sound but stop complaining ,this copy does me

8/8/7 slightly biassed but points out good views

This release is not nuked

Check on nforce.nl. It is not nuked. I can only assume it was nuked for a short time because someone noticed some interlaced frames but then it was later realised it was only the cam sourced footage which is interlaced
