Scene Rules...

What exactly are the "scene rules"?

I thought I understood the reasons for nuking and all that good stuff, but the Constatine nuke for subs got me really confused.

I've done lots of searching but can't seem to find them.

Could someone please help this 2 yr newbie out and please either list the rules (all of them) so I can wrap my head around them or at least provide a link to somewhere that has them?

examples (but not only!):

valid reasons for propers..

what order releases must come out in to not be nuked

etc.

Thanks in advance!

ok the Constatine nuke for subs - is not a valid scene nuke, Thats a Site Rule that stats " No SUBS "

this not a in-depth list, but i'll give it a try:

PROPER reasons -overcroppping, missing scenes, interlaced, extreamly low/high bitrate ( SVCD). their is many more, its just about any fuck up can be propered, and then theirs the LOL proper reason, but thats just to much for me

As for the order of things. thats more of a site to site thing. i don't think their is a general rule about the order of releases. the only nuke on order is dupe, but i don't think thats what u ment

other people will probley post a more acurate list!

Okay, if the scence says that any release with Subs gets nuked, how come only a couple of Cobra's releases got nuked and some didn't?

Just like I got flamed in another thread for asking a question, this stuff is confusing to people just jumping in. But, I guess it is the "scene" for a reason, and not blasted all over any ole P2P network.

No dude its not a Scene Nuke reason, thats a Site Nuke Reason, wich is Very Diffrent. Some Sites don't want to us BW on SUB'd releases

example - Scene Nuke - Missing Scenes, bad AR, Stolen Source

site Nuke - No Cams , No Subs, No STV

hope that clears it up for you

i Hope this don't go to Deep into VCDq's Gray area

Okay, that makes sense. So, for example, VCDquality will put up the nuke sign but yo u have to read it to find out if it's a scene nuke or a site nuke?

Damn, sounds all this stuff is full of gray

Well VCDq should never put up A site Nuke rule, The sub one was a accident!!

VCDq is more of a news website so its nukes usually reflect a scene nuke

I 'm sure you feel qualified to speak for all of humanity but I offer myself as proof of your faillibility...

I like subs

Also I would be curious to know how many times you have come accross hard coded english subs on an english language movie

I am confused about all the sub bashing, I personally like subs.
1st reason dialouge sometimes you want to confirm what you hear.
2nd reason makes up for sub par audio
3rd reason I have two rugrats that can get pretty loud and the subs give me the oppurtunity to continue following the story.

Could really have used subs in constatine

The subs that the original poster was referring to were spanish subs, which the group has no control over. They are part of the movie screen from where it was cammed. So unless you are fluent in spanish also, they are useless to follow. Personally they don't really annoy me. I'd rather have an above avg picture with subs than a piss-poor picture with no subs.

Anyways any word on when the TDX rules will be updated? When was the last update, like 2002 or something? Thanks

Posted by katsushin on 03-19-2005 02:18 PM:

In a word...No

Tdx2k2(yes, last update was in 2002) will remain the canon of standards for DivX release groups until some new technology comes along and cries out with stability, quality and speed, to be adopted by all.
