Comcast.

Do any of you know if you can check how much content (i.e. GB I've used) you have either downloaded or uploaded using Comcast Internet? Thanks in advance.

I don't want to go over the 250GB allowed per month, so I'd like some way of monitoring it..other than my brain. AY!

Once you install it NetMeter runs in the system tray and monitors downloads and uploads.

It won't tell you how much you downloaded before you installed it however.....obviously

If I'm reading it correctly, it will also pick up any other traffic you have locally. So, in my case, I stream media from my PC downstairs to my 360 which means the figures won't be useful in determining my Internet usage as it'll have all the 360 traffic in there as well.

Depending on your router's capabilities, you could always reset it on the 1st each month and view the interfaces stats via the web GUI. Mine's a crappy BT one and it shows me how much traffic goes through each interface.

1. Call Comcast
2. Tell them that you want to change your account to a commercial (business) account because your work requires you to have a server at your home office for the transfer of files.
3. They fax you the paper work, you fax it back.
4. You no longer deal with bandwidth caps, packet monitoring, throttling, or any of the other stupid shit they do because you are a business customer.
5. Not fucking worry about it. (including when it breaks. THey will probably know before you do, but even so, if you call at 2 AM and tell them that your internet is out, they have to roll a truck at 2 am to fix it, because you are a business customer.)

If my memory serves me correct this prog differentiates between lan and wan transfers. So it should be perfect for you.
