Pretty lame compairing dvd2svcd stats, what has the scene come to. But it is a better rip, thats for sure.

Posted by corman on 09-02-2003 06:56 AM:

no doofus, they were telling people why they were thinking the other one was a recode and included stats to back up that fact.

god, so much fuss over such a fucking awful movie

Reguardless , i like the jpg ....LOL :-) even if the movie sucks the jpg is nice to look at

Just to clear up for those having trouble with the nfo (including the two people who posted in this thread)... they know it's NOT a recode of their xvid release, but it's shit quality nonetheless which is why they included the stats. I happen to love the nfo and agree with it 100%, but let's start straying back on topic to the quality of the release now that that's all cleared up...

thats what i meant, i just used too many pronouns, read it again "they were telling people why they (the people) thought it was a recode" and then gave the stats to compare. i know its not a recode, its late and i said they too many times. regardless, like i said before "so much fuss over such a fucking awful movie"

just wanted to clear that up so you didnt think i was a total dumbass

This was a good rip. Video and audio was excellent other than the occasional scroll message and blk & wht scenes. Movie was okay.
The beginning of the video had 2 preview, Dumb and dumberer and How to deal, now why would New Line show a preview of a movie you are going to watch? Hmmm.

9/9/6.5

OVERSIZED MAX VIDEO BITRATE: The SVCD rules specify the max bitrate as 2450 HafVCD used a 2530 minimum bitrate & a minimum bitrate of 300. This might cause problems with some DVD Players.

I'm pretty sure the maximum bitrate for an SVCD is 2520, using 10 more would very likely not cause a problem on 99.9% of players.

They deserve the nuke for the other reasons though

Cool

Your probly right SycoCowz, most player will play hafvcds one just fine, but the sonic svcd looks much better on my teli

I think they were talking about svcd scene rules which are;
- Must be at least 1750kbit average, with a maximum of 2450kbit.

this i think keeps it compatible with 100% of svcd compatable dvd playerz. plus haf cut too many corners to pre it first.

Ah a nice chick flick for my chicka. Nice quality of course so i'll make this one short. And as always i don't rate from the samples only from the originals

video - 8.5
sound - 8.5
Movie - For a guy 5 / sensitive guy 8 / a chicka 8

watching this right now on the TV.

The quality is absolutely superb.

Using CCE was a nice touch to get a good quality svcd rip.
6 passes is a waste.. anything over 4 is big time diminishing
returns.

anyhow.. props to these guys for an excellent rip.

video: 9.5
audio: 9.5
movie: ? - little over 1/2 way thru it.. 7ish so far

edit:

the movie rating went from my previous 7, to a 5. The only
thing that would have made this movie good would have been
if mandy moore flashed'em.

Posted by psyche on 09-05-2003 12:23 PM:

Great improvement over HafVCD's crap encode. This one looks a million times better and more groups should follow this standard. The movie however bored the fuck out of me, I'd shoot someone if this had a higher rating than Gigli or Glitter (Which are pretty damn low but this film is worse!) 9/9/1

Posted by kid_rusher on 09-07-2003 08:54 PM:

Rip is pretty decent. good pic and sound. about on the same level as other dvd screeners. black and white scenes on this. movie was really lame. i think mandy moore is a good actor, but this was utter crap.
