Guess Who *SAMPLEFIX* - TELESYNC - STN

STN, i would like to thank you for releasing a samplefix for an already nuked release. keep em coming

Alright, i guess im the ONLY one who gets this.

STN cams at a drive in, im pretty sure there audio is FM Radio capped to MiniDisc, but with my personal experience minidiscs cant record for SHIT, hence the sound quality sucks. dont know why there AR is all wanked too, but the reason for the grainyness/whiteness/blahness is because there filming off a Drive in screen.

the problem with a drive in screen is that the light escapes the sides before hitting the lens, as apposed to a cinema which is smaller and gives the light less ways to travel.

and so ends todays lesson in cinema piracy

So yeah, STN's really are TS's, but i dont know what cam there using, but it must fucking suck ass. get a better cam, or get some balls and go to the movie theater, because this drive in audio/cam combination pretty much sucks balls.

Vid - 6 - (for the effort, and camming it yourself)

Audio - 4 - (STOP USING MINIDISC. cap to a laptop, or find some digital input device to capture too)

MoviE - 1 - I HATED IT SDFSDFSDSA.

why

My buddy lives darn close to a drive in and sometimes records audio from the FM channel to an mp3 in his pc and makes us the odd summer Telesync when only cammed releases are available. Syncing those are a bitch though.

Yup Yup and Yup

I think your all failing to miss my point.

The problem with drive ins, is when you lose all the light entering the lens from a distance, it detracts in quality. no matter where you live, you get light pollution, and nowhere is 100% black like a cinema is. A drive in screen isnt great either - there not usually perfect, and depending on how far back you are you almost always get a tilt (although this could be fixed when you encode it)

I just wish they'd go to the theater with this exact cam...

This is a fine quick release of a suck-ass movie. thanks stn for droppin it as a vcd-ts
I never doubted it.
6/6/3
This is a broke-ass "meet the parents"

You dont get my point. Id download a cam without a TS available and then make my own TS with the drive in audio. Kinda lame tequnique, and Salton Sea was one we worked on.

I've recorded things off the radio to my MD recorder and the sound quality is good. If STN is in fact using an MD recorder, they probably switch to mono mode so they can record for longer and don't have to switch discs in the middle. This would result in poor sounding audio.

first, i will rate this rls

video: what you would expect now adays, a tripod, and nothing spectular; 6ish

sound: what can i say, it's direct; 7

and slightly off topic, but this is totally warrented; horton, you have no clue what you're talking about. mindisc, albiet a compressed format, is prefectly acceptable for ts audio. in fact, fm audio is JUST as compressed as md audio. i would bet you couldn't distinguish a 48 khz dat recording of an ald jack from a md recording, almost no one on this planet could in a double blind test. point in case, 256kb atrac3 is above the perception threshold of most human hearing, that's why they used it. next arguement please.

I said in MY experience. i freaking sold my MD player a while back to help raise funds for my snazzy new ipod, but if i remember correct i had to have the MD in lp2 mode or original mode, not lp4, for it to sound alright. maybe there not capturing to MD at all - if they captured to tape they'd lose the bass, and thats just as bad..

Nice Lesson, but I got this silver the same day they released it, from local flea market. So your light escaping theory (tho true) does not really apply here.
Some groups just fix up video and audio better than others, but for most part these average close to cam releases are almost all from same source, just different cropping or audio.
You wanna see a drive in source look at that deepthroat movie sample from LRC. Thats a total drive-in experience. LOL
Also if you set up your cam properly, and get center screen, you would be surprised what you can accomplish at a DI. Knowing all the proper setting on camera is "key".

Video- 5 at best
Audio- 4
Flick- Had its good parts 7

you sure you picked up this silver? odd indeed. Im pretty sure they do drive in cams because if you look at other TS's (Be cool, miss congeniality 2, This one, etc) they all seem to have the brightness/whiteness of the light escaping at a drive in. heck, maybe im wrong. but it was just my guess, considering in the past we've seen the same sort of symptoms with video problems as other grps who cam at the drive in.
