chasing amy
good movie until the end...what a screwy ending....
hehe i also found myself asking "why is this movie named chasing amy? her name isnt amy..." then not-so-silent bob explained it near the end
all in all, i like kevin smith;s other movies more. but this still earns a 7/10. good weird movie.

mmm, awesome movie. in my opinion, Kevin Smith is the messiah, and every movie he makes is a gift from the heavens, but im not biased in any way..

I thought Chasing Amy was the weakest of Kevin Smith's films. However it did have the best Girl on Girl kiss EVER!
And also taught me the term "Finger Kuffs" he he.
Being the weakest of Kevin Smith's movies is no bad thing, it's still a hell of a lot better than most directors best efforts.
Billy
chasing amy was just different to the usual humour of smiths films. personally, i love it cos its the typical smith twist on something mundane.. how many romance movies are there in the world? too many. how many love stories involve a straight man and a gay girl ? not many
i never class smiths films as being better or worse than each other, they're just different. altho i kinda think J&SB was the weakest of them all script wise, it was still great. it was just a bit too "hollywood" for my liking, but that was the feel he was trying to acchieve, so thats no bad thing at all.

<Dwaggy> i caught you a delicious Bass
<The404> This is because you are an idiot
I'm sure I read somewhere that Kevin Smith had only done J&SB as a huge "Thank You" to all the fans of his films who were crying out for a movie with J&SB as the main characters.
I don't think it was too Hollywood. I just think it looks that way due the bigger budget. If you look back to Clerks all the way through to J&SB, they look more and more "Hollywood-ised" as the series goes on.
Probably due to Smith spending the money on a better looking final product.
I reckon Kevin Smith just wanted the J&SB monkey off his back, so he could get on with making differant films. Like Jersey Girl, which I think has the potential to be the biggest pile of pants ever.
J-Lo?????
WTF???
Billy
i actually think chasing amy was one of his better films. i mean dont get me wrong.. i love all of them. but chasing amy seemed to be a little more geared towards adults than his other films. and allthough i like getting stupid every now and then. i also like films that are geared to my age group.. smith as a writer/director is a genius. i was so pissed when his script for "superman lives" was rejected.. he coulda made a hell of a comic book movie.. for those that didnt know that he is actually involved in comics

Fuck Ridley Scott. Fuck Speilburn and his stupid walkie-talkies... and FUCK Ron Howard.
There is no other director/writer halfway as talented as the Young Kevin Smith. Period. I have yet to watch ANYTHING he was even INVOLVED in that I didnt like. Be it Vulgar that he Co-Produced and Cameoed in. Or "The Flying Car" a short with Dante and Randell. The Man is pure genius, if not beyond Genius. If I had to pick my least favorite it would be Chasing Amy, but still its in my top 20 movies of all time. Number one of course being Clerks. I could go on and on for hours about how and why Clerks is unlike any other movie released in Hollywood, and why its the best movie ever produced. Fuck the Godfather. Fuck it up its stupid ass

So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

Vulgar was a great pic, but was lacking in true DEEPER meaning. Actually alot of Smith flicks were (IE JASB, Chasing Amy) but a few (Clerks, Dogma) really have solid ones. Mallrats I've never decided if it was just that good w/o one or if it had one *shrugs*
Clerks = Great Msg, Great Acting, Great filming, Sweet ass Character development, (i can go on...._
