how can this be retail dvd since the pdvd dvdr just came out?

Posted by vip3r on 08-22-2004 09:12 AM:

The PDVDR doesn't mean shit, that's a VHS screener to DVD. Chances are that VHS SCREENER was the 'PHAT' release.

Anywho, since this is a uk film, it streets in the uk on September 6th - See here

It opens nationwide in the us on September 27th though.

SVCD/DVDR will most likely be in PAL format, but this is definately a legit release.

Its from a PDVD reenc to SVCD like the XviD release...

All shitty and not retails and should be nuked for saying its retail.

It will be from some asian silvers.

Posted by pHo on 08-23-2004 07:02 PM:

i've not grabbed it due to the fact i'm offline atm so at my parents place for a few hours...

but the fact the full retail dvd has been reviewed by a lot of online dvd sites means there's most definitely a retail disc going around. either that or their reviewers are psychic and just guessing at how good the extras are

thats awesome, i wonder how they managed to not only sharpen the image, but also some how magicly retrieve the cropped pic that was missing from the pdvd seeing as how this is widescreen and the pdvd is fullscreen. anyways this release is good, will hold me off until i buy it, if ever a r1 version comes out here. nice pic and audio, no complaints.

I don't get it.. The average video rating for this flick on this thread is about 8 out of 10 which is pretty good. However, the global video ratings listing on vcdquality for this flick is 6.3 which indicates the video is slightly better then average. There's a pretty big gap between those ratings. What am I missing here. Are these numbers reversed or something?
