yes 52X is max speed. u could burn with 8x cds if you wanted to but the max buring rate would be only 8x btw lite-on = no

Even on my 52x burner, I never burn faster than 32x for data, and never faster than 16x for SVCD, just to limit coasters. A couple extra minutes per disc is a small price to pay for better burning reliability, especially when you're probably limited by broadband speeds of 300K/sec anyway.

lite-on rules. i have a 48x combo drive and it's great. it was $40 a year ago and i use it regularly anad it hasn't made a coaster yet, outside of copy protection bypass attempts

dunno if you understood...the burner is a 32x burner. could i buy a 52x media and burn at 32x with it?

1st stupid statement of 2005.

Lite-On are one of the best mass production units. Many companies including Mad Dog, Buslink and Iomega use their drives, they just put their names on them. I have two CD-R drives from Lite-On that I bought 2 years ago (24 burners) and still work strong and a Mad Dog 16x/4x DVD/Dual Layer burner that kicks serious fucking ass.

So Lite-On=YES

Yes it works, 8x is the MAX you can burn and there is no minimum for the dvds, you will be fine

lol even our Best Buy brand computers...INSIGNIA (vpr Matrix) dont use Lite-On, we use SONY opitical drives

Posted by ZootedLooter on 01-06-2005 11:59 AM:

if you do find youre burning coasters..check the mfg website for new firmware dls.....dvd 5 s come with plenty of warnings for discs that burn at 4x and 8x for to do so....i cant imagine it being different for cdrs.....although i had an old 16x cdr burner till last year and never had a prob with faster media
