-- Troy *WS* - DVDRIP - TUN (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=46766)

Seems a lil blurry I guess you could say. Retail is in April, this does't same like a DVDRip, just a sexy TC.

actually last time i checked the USA ntsc release isn't until january 5th, 2005.

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/541/541969p1.html

looking at the sample this screams TC from a pdvd source, if not then this is a really poor encode or the master disc was poorly made. with so many versions out (i grabed the pot and the videocd ones), anything but a true retail ntsc rip is not worth my time. I can only take so much of brad pitts ass as nice as it is.

Update: Well I should check the dvd-r releases before i open my big mouth about something i dont know anything about. seems a pal dvdr release is out and like someone mentioned, amazon uk list the uk release on their site. so must just be the encode and the fact its such a long movie didn't help either. oh well, good effort TUN.

Um for all the arguing, odds are this is a retail source... I mean come on.. www.amazon.com/uk lists troy release as

Release date: October 25, 2004. Not yet available: you may still order this title. We will dispatch it to you when it is released by the studio.

Whats the odds that a month pre-retail that this group is going to fake a retail copy. Yea could be done, but odds are for fuck sakes they arent... It is svcd and high action, im sure tun is also not the most skilled encoder.. Hence the faded look on sample.. But face it, this is retail.... And to the UK, since when in the hell do you guys get shit before the USA retail??? th is confuses me... We make the movies and you guys get em first... BLAAAAAAAAH.

what are you haters talking about? :)

After watching this release get nuked 5-10 minutes after pre for reasons that are completely false, I am almost starting to believe there is an anti-tun organization

I watched the full release, it's not missing any parts, the bitrate is a bit lower than normal but what do folks expect this movie is long as fuck! what is tun supposed to do, release a 4 cd svcd?

I give TUN props on this release, and their TC before this.......

beyond some fuzziness on the edges of the top and bottom of the picture , probably the result of low-pass encoding.... this release is fine.....

Posted by shezareeni on 09-15-2004 04:35 AM:

This release is simply a re-encode of the dvdr released by Scream which was already downsampled hence the lack of quality.

GIVE UP TUN

The German RC2 is due to release on 9.17 (check amazon.de (German titel: Troja)) but also already available in some stores. So this can definitely be DVD-Source.

Posted by sYph0n on 09-15-2004 02:22 PM:

This is not a "month pre retail", this is only because the PAL RC2 retail is officially released the day after tomorrow (september 17th), it includes german and english language, they simply ripped this very dvd with english language. strange that PAL retail is earlier than NTSC.

this is also the case for the XVID and DVDr release of that movie. all from pal rc2 dvd.

Thumbs up

Just Got Done Watching First Disc of This Copy of Troy. I Notice The Lower Bitrate Code That Jasper_Indica Refer To But It's Still Gloriously Better Than All Previously Releases. I Honestly Wouldn't Mind A 4 Disc Copy W/Higher Bitrate Because I'm All About Quality, 4 Discs Is Nothing Compared To The Price of A Ticket To The Theatre or A Retail DVD. But That Is Just Me. Anyways, Other Than That, Copy Is Great, Video & Audio & Friend Says He's Noticed No Missing Scenes. On A Side Note, I Did Not Notice The Fuzziness On The Top & Bottom, Could Be Me Though. Nice Work TUN, Finally Got To Watch This Movie, Which Isn't That Bad (So Far) =]
