Question Limited Screeners

Hi All

Can anyone explain to me what is meant by a Limited Screener? I searched all over the web and haven't had much luck finding a definitive answer. From my experience the films are fine nothing missing. I've always thought that it meant a film that was only released in a few select theaters and not nationally.

Thanks in advance

The *Limited* term means that it was shown in a 'limited' number of theaters nationwide.

Thank you, drive through....

You got to be careful about accidently hitting that "0" instead of the "9" since they're next to each other on the keyboard. Use the number pad next time. . .

BTW, I'm in the 1%. . .

dont listen to these guys, they're all jerks...

limited is a release group that branched off the division of CPx... they, as well as parent CPX, remain two of the most elite and fastest release groups on the scene today.

Why we are on the subject, sort of, I was curious about a couple of things. Now, I know what the term nuked means in relation to a release. What I don't get is the terms used sometimes. You know when you hover over the toxic sign or whatever on the main page, it says what is wrong. Is there an index somewhere or is it terms just picked up over time. Like the term "proper" and "bad ar". Proper I can guess at, but what about "ar"?

One more, "mislabled.SVCD.TS.not.bin.cue"

I tried to search but like a bijillion threads showed up when you searched nuked.

ar = aspect ratio. so bad ar is when a movie that was originally encoded as 2.35:1 is mistakenly re-encoded as 1.85:1 so that everything and everybody in the movie look squished, thin and tall. movies with less fequently used ARs like 1.77:1 or even 1.66:1 can be the source of this kind of problem. A movie like "M" which was recently rereleased on the Criterion collection with an expanded edition, was encoded at 1.19:1 so that if a ripper reencoded it at 1.33:1 (which would be an initial instinct for a movie from 1931), it would look stretched and fat and be nuked for "bad ar".
"mislabled.svcd.ts" means that the group probably mislabled a cam as ts. The video on a ts is still cammed but the audio is from an outside source(as opposed to using the corder's mic). A source like the hard of hearing headphone jack in many theaters or even by pluggin in to board in the projection room. lately dts discs, re-encoded for size, have become a great source for ts audio.
"not.bin.cue" is a packaging error...group released it as a non standard image or as an .mpg stream.

as for "limited" it seems kind of funny to say "limited is cool" when all it means is that the movie was in limited distribution at the time of the rls. There are many reasons why a movie would only be in limited release and it certainly doesnt mean that it wont be in Wide release in the near future. The reason the directories are tagged with "limited" is that site rules are generally tied very tightly to imdb status of rating and distro just to keep as much of the crap out as possible. site affils dont have to worry bout the rules though...they can rls anything they want and sites generally wont nuke an affil rls...its very bad scene ettiquite.
