Not a bad release at all. Only a few nit picks I've got, but that just me

The bitrate can't be 4248 video + 448 dd5.1 + 192 dc 2.0 = 4888 overall bitrate = 4,472,520 KB... Doesn't leave anything for the 266meg menu and the 187meg behind the scenes extra. So I dunno where they got that number from. Video bit rate is actually 3863kbit/sec (mathematically, not including the authoring space) to be able to fit the extras and menu as they did.

:: EDIT - Ignore the above I used the 122 mins from the NFO to calculate the bitrate... Man, that's what happens when you don't post often enough I guess ... Mathematically, the bitrate is 4252kbit/sec, which is right on cue ::

Video is not bad... A little grainy (not the fault of Anipunk) at times, and turns sometimes blurry. Movie is mostly dark, so flaws are quite visible. Could have used a bit more bits IMO, but the 187 megs in the extras I doubt would have done all that much overall (like 5% improvement on video). And of course, if this release could be untouched, I am sure XPDVD will do it And I myself welcome that anyday

Video 8/10 - Probably the source is not that good. This is an indie film after all, they can't afford the highest grade film Doubt the retail looks much better though.

DVD-R 9/10 - Good job. I wish they mentioned which region they got it from (at least I missed it then). But since there is DC, makes me think R1. I'll examine the menu VOB for chinese

:: EDIT - hehe, R1 it is (shown below)... Time for some glasses ::

Overall, good movie and worth a peek!

The nfo states that the source is R1. The R1 retail date is 6 September.

There are some potential navigational issues on the disc. Commands for some of the stripped content points to removed a second program, whie there is only 1 program available.

Didn't dig deep enough to see if those commands can actually get accessed, I just corrected the errors.

But looking at the ripping tool they used (which won't make this mistake by itself, so it was manual error by the person ripping) it's a bit sloppy.

So the source is an R1 Retail

Hehe... Whoops Too busy nit picking

:: EDIT - Actually, it's probably the naked girl in the NFO that distracted me... ::

I ran it through doitfast4u, and reauthorist gave me 4246k bitrate. So I guess the nfo is legit. Looks like a pretty good rls for a pre/tv/xxx/classic group.

my .02

SHIT... You're right... I used the 122 mins that the NFO stated for the math, but the movie is 112min21sec... I was going crazy trying to figure out why I also got the 4246 using re-authorist...

Now mathematically I got 4252kbit/sec... I'll be editing my previous post now (and buying some glasses).

just curious, why does the headers on the newsgroups say "limited"?
"Presents: Crash.2004.LiMiTED.NTSC.DVDR-ANiPUNK -"

Video - 9/10 - not untouched but looks awesome
Audio - 10/10 - sounds excellent
Movie - 9/10 - amazing film

Excellent release. Video is great, audio is awesome, menu is edited to only what is there, and movie is an amazing film, even worth the buy! Great release to pick up.

The movie was a limited release... Limited to certain cities.

How do you identify these problems? And how did you fix them?

If I run the disc through DVDShrink and PgcEdit, which usually complain about broken navigation etc., the disc reads just fine, no errors. ANd I can play the disc just fine in software players on my PC.

But when I burn the disc to DVD+R, it won't play in my Sony standalone. It simply won't start. A mockstrip in IfoEdit doesn't help either. It's very strange, because it turned out that I can burn the disc to DVD+RW and it works! My DVD+R discs work with all other movies...?!

I always recommend using DVD-R instead of DVD+R when burning movies.

A DVD-R has at least 24 megabits of extra space then a DVD+R.
Most movie images you get from the Internet are customized to utilize all the space on a DVD-R. Beside that, DVD-R are more compatible with standalone DVD players.

I got this last night, and watched it..

V: 10 - didnt see any signs of downsampling and no pixalation.
A: 10 - perfect transfer of the DD5.1
M: 8 - A good watch... Very racial though. Wouldnt advice anyone to watch this if you're offended by such material.

Great Flick! Highly Recommended! This movie shows that everyone has a good and bad side, and how no matter what race/color/creed there are seeds of racism in most everyone. But when the shit hits the fan, we should help others no matter what our preconceived ideas are.

This one will be bought and in my collection
9/10/9
Great Film, must see this one !
