Looks great. Definitely a screener... not sure if source is VHS or VCD. Looks like it's VCD to me...

Sound is excellent. No sync problems noticed on either CD. One thing I did notice: no subtitles/captions. I'm not sure if there's supposed to be subs for when the indians talk... but they're not there. I haven't seen this in theaters so i can't be sure.

Video: 8
Audio: 9
Movie: ?

Here's some higher res. screenshots if anyone is interested (screens taken at 1280x1024):

Can someone please check the running time to see if this is the version of the film that played last year? (Around 150 minutes, the one playing now was trimmed down to around 130...)

Thanks

Thumbs up

I noticed some strange issue with the FPS , almost reminded me of what you see on a PAL-->NTSC conversion...

extra/inserted frames or skipped frames, it seemed fragmented

otherwise an excellent release tho!

The New World - SCREENER - RUSTLERS

not a bad screener tho props go to maven as this is stolen from their xvid,i prefer vcd anyway as i find em easier to convert to dvdr.
video 7 clean clear tho i think it skips parts dont think the full movie is there.
audio clear 7
movie 4 slow boring not much action.
nice job maven shame on you rustlers

THIS is silver, wasnt mavens source (This time)......but still the quality is decent.

Not much to choose between both...but movie sucks ass

7/7/1

4\9\?

v = bad ivtc \7 jerkiness (reencode of xvid?)
a= typical scr quality, nice

m = cant watch unles i blink every other second

would of given rustlers the benefit of the doubt about it being their own source if it wasnt for the fact that maVens bad IVTC and jerkiness is also on this rls. That or the source was like that.

Good source let down by clumsiness.

Yeah, other than the fact that it sucks, it's great.
There is something wrong with the frame rate--something
to do with progressive video, I think. And I'll bet there are
supposed to be subtitles too when they're speakin indian.

What a shame, to waste such a good (screener) source
as this. Nice try, but please REDO!!

Yeah. I noticed the same thing after watching it. I tried playing it in WinDVD, PowerDVD, and using the latest xvid codec. It played the same for all. It looked like it had a low frame rate.

It's not their fault, its the source. They rlsd it cause its the only thing better than the cam. I dont think it can be fixed either, otherwise they would have done so.

Good Release ( 6.5 / 10)

Video Quality: 7 / 10
Sound Quality: 6 / 10
Movie: 4 / 10

Movie was very long, needed more editing and more focus on the actual war

Well, this is the longer version Malick wasn't happy with and trimmed 20 minutes out of. I suspect the shorter (theatrical) version will show up one of these days...

This is a good release of a boring movie

7/8/6

If you liked "The Thin Red Line" then you'll like this movie, same director. If I would have seen this in a theatre I would have fallen asleep.

Could've been great quality

V=6 (if no choppiness, could've been a 9)
A=6 (out of sync, otherwise an 8)
M=? (haven't finished watching it yet)

Too bad it plays so choppy.
It reminds me of the days when I downloaded new movies in ASF, and they were, like 15FPS or something like that.

This release started off perfect. I thought, "damn, this is the best VCD SCR I've ever seen!", and I was so happy with it, until about 10 mins. into it, it goes all choppy... and I didn't notice the audio sync problems until a couple mins. into the movie, but then that became pretty bad once I noticed.

Thanks to Rustlers and Maven anyhow.
