Manhunt 2 nearly banned in the uk !
Im sure everyone has heard of manhunt one of the most controversial games ever made... well it's sequal is due to hit shelfs in the uk next month , that was untill yesterday when the bbfc announced that manhunt 2 had been rejected.
This means It cant be supplied anywhere in the uk... but fear not manhunt fans (sadistic killers in then making) this decision was later overturned by an appeal by the video appeals committee.
So officially the game was banned making it the fist game since carmageddon to be banned in the uk.story stolen from here
I dont see what the big deal is ,i feel its the parents job to control what games kids are playing that's why games like this and gta are labelled 18 , the same as movies with strict violence , and anyone who feels like they want to do something they see in a game is dangerous whether they've played the game or not.

What's your source for this info because I can still only find news articles pertaining to the ban itself?

Oh shit im wrong it is banned
I misread this
quote:i assumed it was refering to manhunt , but now realise how stupidly fast i read the story and that it's carmagenddon they were refering to...sorry for the fuck up.
The last video game to be rejected was Carmageddon back in 1997, although that decision was later overturned on appeal by the Video Appeals Committee.

I doesn't matter if they ban it or not anyway - it's coming out Europe-wide so you can always import it (or download it... Mwahahahahaha!)

Yeah if i fancy playing it i will just import it , ebay is bound to be flooded with it and anyone who really wants it will import it.
So banning it isnt really going to curb sales or stop weirdos violently bashing peoples head's in with a hammer...
SO fuck you bbfc ! Hahaha.

Banning a game just increases sales because it makes a lot of people curious to why it was banned so in turn they go out and buy it,
I don't think this game will be any better than the 1st and it's true the first one was fucking terrible.Just a really poor game.
Remember the shit that went with the first Grand Theft Auto. The game was discussed in parliament.Ridiculous.It was fucking laughable at best.
Did anyone play Bully ?
I never played it but I thought it looked pretty good.
Rockstar definitely know what they are doing and good luck to them.

Sony and Nintendo block US Manhunt 2 release
Ben Parfitt Today, 10:00am
Platform holders refuse licence for any Adult Only game on their systems, effectively banning Rockstar title from US release
Rockstar’s controversial Manhunt 2 appeared to have received a slight reprieve yesterday after US games body the ESRB granted the game an AO licence – but now both Sony and Nintendo have stepped forward to say that that game will not be appearing on their consoles after all.
GameSpot’s Brendan Sinclair reports that both Sony and Nintendo have policies that prevent AO rated games appearing on their systems in the US. And any hope that Microsoft could step in to aid the title were also dashed with the firm confirming that it too would not allow an AO rated title on 360.
“It's currently our policy not to allow the playback of AO-rated content on our systems,” a Sony spokesperson told GameSpot.
A Nintendo spokesperson added: “As stated on Nintendo.com, Nintendo does not allow any AO-rated content on its systems. Games made for Nintendo systems enjoy a broad variety of styles, genres, and ratings. These are some of the reasons our Wii and Nintendo DS systems appeal to such a broad range of people.
“But as with books, television, and movies, different content is meant for different audiences. That's why the ESRB provides ratings to help consumers understand the content of a game before they purchase it.”
The game’s originally scheduled US release date of July 10th now seems almost certainly to be cancelled.
