Thought of the day...
I'm just sat watching BBC1 (a documentary on The Victorians) and it's signed for the deaf... Now, I've noticed that people doing the signing for shows are universally ugly, the one on this show has ginger AND greasy hair (and a face like a smacked arse). If you had a TV and only possessed one of the two senses that are "vital" to enjoying TV, wouldn't you insist that the person doing the signing was at least worth a fuck, or at worst a drunken fumble?
Fucking deaf bastards, get complaining to Ofcom cos I can't wank to this gesticulating bitch

There's one good looker, but she's only on occasionally.
Is that signing a real 'language' or do they just make it up as they go along?
I hear the signers on MTV/MTV Base are alternately good looking and amusing to watch.
Ginger women do have one redeeming factor, they all take it up the arse.
They have to make more of an effort you see.

My Mum is ginger (well, she used to be)... Dunno if she takes it up the arse though, I'll ask her.

I take the BBC is so far behind they've never heard of Close Captioning?!?!
Takkouri can you explain that to my girl?
Well actually she has "tried" it a few times but then I hear complaints about being in pain and shitting herself for a week. Not sure if the two are related.
quote:All main evening programmes are captioned. These are repeats shown in the early hours of the morning. They have both closed captions and signing. What the purpose of that is I don't know? It's really annoying if that's the only time you get a chance to catch up on shows.

Yeah Candy, pretty much all UK TV has subtitles but the BBC also repeats certain shows late at night with somebody signing it instead (dunno, must be a deaf "thing" or maybe there's lots of dyslexic deaf people
)
I don't mind the signing, it's pretty easy to ignore (unlike shows that are narrated for the deaf, giving descriptions over the soundtrack of everything happening on screen) but I don't understand why they're always soooooo fucking ugly. Are all deaf people ugly? Then again, presumably these ugly fuckers aren't even deaf as they're effectively translating the show into BSL so must be able to hear.

Speaking of handicapped women on BBC1. There was an edition of "To Buy Or Not To Buy" a few weeks back. The couple looking for a home included a woman with a severe case of cerebral palsy. She moved like a Gerry Anderson puppet and her speech was limited to a few honking noises. That didn't bother me. What did was that her physically normal husband had fathered two children by her. I'm sure she's a very nice girl but the idea of having sex with someone like that? Maybe I'm old fashioned but I mean, ew!
