pacific 1002 is one of the best dvd players only £49.99 (may have gone back up to £59.99 but still cheap) it plays anything vcd/svcd/dvd/mp3 !!!!!

mintek 38.95 out the door @ target plays everything

JVC owns you all

Yamakawa dvd-218. 39.99 at Fry's if you have one in your area. I have seen the Portland at Target. It may be easier to find.

The new APEX players will not play VCDs only SVCDs. Most new DVD plays will not play VCDs for some reason even if says it will on the box. If you can, you should take a VCD to the store with you and see if it will load up on the player. Most DVD players are not hooked up to televisions so you don't have to worry about broadcasting what you are doing.

Good Luck

Alba 114 is great... Plays anything and it was only like £60.

It's a cheap silver plastic that looks like metal but it can play nearly everything...

...'Cop that shit ASAP. :-p

Mirr 110 from Staples the only thing it wont play are AVI and DIVX.

You can burn a VCD,SVCD,JPEG,MOV,MP3 and a low quality DVD capture from the PVR250. Burn these to the same CD-R and it plays one format after another. Thats raw mpegs no authorising needed.
pothole

Just dropped the price from £69 to £54

I just picked up the Apex AD-1201 and it plays everything except xsvcd's. But when was the last time a group released an xsvcd encode? Picked it up at CC for $39.

I also have a Mintek 1600, and I love it. It's great! For the price I paid for it it's a fantastic DVD Player.
