? about winavi and ez video joiner
i use winavi to convert my avis to dvd and ez joiner to join the cds together if more then one. my question is for some reason when ever i go into ez joiner and chose the stuff i want to join and click join it pops up and says "the following avi files can not be read" followed by what ever the file was that i was tring to join? it just started doing this today it worked fine yesterday just wondering if anyone nos what the prob could be or if there is another video joiner out there that will work. thanks m8is
talk about making life difficult for yourself. Just load both files into winavi and let it join them (well, it just creates 2 seperate vobsets)
what about when i go to burn them with nero do i just choose both? and it will join them when it burns it?
in winavi;
1. click dvd button
2. select both avi's (when u click ok, make sure it puts them in the right order)
3. select output directory
4. select output format as dvd
5. click advanced tab next to format selection.
6. make sure "constant video size" is selcted at 1 disc at 4300 MB.
7. set chapter length, AR etc and click OK
8. click ok again to start conversion.
when its finished it will have created a folder called dvd_0, containing 2 folders, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. The video_ts contains the movie files. Just drag both these folders to nero and burn.
if you cant do that, you deserve to die.
alright didnt no it was that easy lol thanks m8 i use to use dvd santa but for some reason it does convert right and it takes forever thanks again
dont worry if i cant do this ill shot myself lol
im having trouble using winavi when ever i convert something to dvd it will convert the whole thing but it will only be 2.5 gigs, and if i burn it and try to play it it says tv system doesnt match? dont no what that means and when i do cd 1 and cd2 it will only do cd1 not cd2? any help would be great l8r
is there a program that will join the files into one ?
bloody hell, i thought this was sorted. The tv system thing means that you must be rtying to play a PAL movie on a standalone/tv that will only accept an NTSC signal.
Check the advanced options tab. It will be set to auto by default for the tv system, so change it to ntsc. Check the file size and disc number settings to for the 2.5 gb problem.
and chucka, u lazy "i cant be arsed using search" bastard, load the first avi into vdub, select append avi, then select second file and save as avi then convert...if you dont understand that, tough.
where can i get vdub from m8? thanks for all the advice ive wasted 4 dvdrs with that dam tv system bull shit thanks m8
edit i did all that and checked the file size and it still does it
np...you can find it here
If you scroll down that page, there are plenty of guides there.
My last post may have been a bit misleading, but vdub will not convert it to dvd format, but it will allow you to join the avi's.
Theres some more software you could try. The Film Machine is a great piece of software, it bundes other software for the complete convertion of avi's, including subtitles if you want and pal-ntsc conversion. Not as fast as winavi, but using it with CCE, gives far better results....The Film Machine
good luck
thanks again m8 also do u use dvd lab pro? caz i tried useing that today and when ever i go to compile my movie it says "Fatal error compile version does not match that on your computer download update from " and it has some site and i went there and couldnt find it i tried to make a movie with menus but i could compile it to burn it worked the other day but i didnt have any room so i deleted some stuff and now it wont work any help would be great thanks m8 peaces l8r

what about when i compile it? everytime i try to do that it says something like system doesnt match major error and the program goes off?
sounds like you have a dodgy install...the system error means that you are trying to compile an ntsc dvd using pal files, or vice versa.
yep, there's something wrong with your dvdlab. it shouldn't be doing that. I actually compile PAL to NTSC conversions using the DGpulldown method and it gives me a warning, but always works.
quote:use avi rm mpeg wmv joiner just search for it and then use dvixtodvd to convert it if you live in the states you need to choose ntsc playback
