I thought I just read some place that this was unnuked. oh well I have it and it is awesome. i think the res is great, don't like it get a better monitor..hehehe

Posted by matheuspmo on 01-14-2006 06:04 AM:

nuke

why is it nuked??

Posted by chiv on 01-14-2006 06:42 AM:

its 5.1 though right? the nfo looked a little shakey to me, like it was done by a n00by group, so could possibly be mp3 audio...

Posted by Redemption1980 on 01-14-2006 02:09 PM:

Stupid Nuke reason, i have no idea why they have max res rules, they are vry much limiting the quality, the best XviD rips out there are not Scene ones, but Internal one or personal ones.

720x304 is only a 0.77% AR error for 2:35:1.

Will scan through the full release when i have it.

Posted by chiv on 01-14-2006 02:23 PM:

would appreciate some comments on quality... this is an unfamiliar group to me (new?) so i dont know what the quality will be like throughout...

Posted by Redemption1980 on 01-14-2006 02:49 PM:

The quality isnt the greatest in my opinion, kinda blocky, strange movement affect, and the colours seem wrong, like a TV capture.

It is watchable, but not what u would expect of a movie on 2CD's, especially since the sample has a video bitrate of 1562, unfortunately the movie is coming down rather slowly, so cant rate the full release yet, but im curious of the length, as a Video bitrate of 1119 with a 448k AC3 track, means the movie is about 124 mins, which would be nice.

Posted by chiv on 01-14-2006 03:16 PM:

yeah pretty much what i was thinking... the resolution is just TOO high for this kind of movie, they really should have left it at 640x272, because im sure it'll get propered... that it hasn't allready is kind of surprising...

Posted by Redemption1980 on 01-14-2006 09:36 PM:

Wouldnt say its the Res, as i use 720x304 alot for 2:35:1 stuff, and the sample does have a 1500K Bitrate, which is more than enough for that res, i think its either the source was noisy, or possibly the Mpeg Custom Matrix that was used.

I do expect a proper though.

PHILIPS DVP630

Posted by jrw on 01-15-2006 01:00 AM:

Decent quality but could've been nicer, it looks sort of like when you dvd shrink a movie , (blocky at times) and its alittle dark overall.

Posted by Sup3rFly on 01-15-2006 03:11 AM:

Looks decent to me but I will say could look a bit better.

Cheers

hmmm, uh oh, has this release been overcropped? i think ive seen a screen from the dvdscr release (was that ever confirmed as a dvdscr or tc?)

well anyway, heres a screen from i *THINK* the tff release, and the second is from this release:

Maybe they used Smart Crop All hehehe... Keep in mind that if from retail DVD it will be formated/presented in a different way to a capture. Who knows maybe there is black or lighter pixels on the top and botton of the picture.

TFF's release was a telecine, I confirmed it by looking at it myself :P

Posted by chiv on 01-15-2006 12:28 PM:

haven't watched the whole thing yet, just glanced through it... atleast i was right in my assumption, this isn't a great film, bad dialogue and silly action sequences, but meh... theres blood, cheap cgi and stuff gets blown up, so its not like i wont enjoy it for what it is - either way, the film isn't worth downloading again if it DOES get propered.

now that ive seen the quality:
7/10/5

Thumbs up

just watched this release and im affraid to say i couldnt find anything wrong with it apart from the occasional pixilation (which is very slight). this is def worth getting.

So is everyone here referring to a 2cd rip by LMG? vcdq and the nfo here say 1cd.

Posted by orbitize on 01-31-2006 07:45 PM:

Video is okay enough, sound is pretty good. Movie...hmm...well...*sigh*
