Technically, this is a well done rip. The only exception is that the layer break was not removed.
Otherwise, it's a lazy effort from alliance to rip the dvd to shreds. The menu is less than 10Mb leaving tons of space for the inclusion of the alternate ending and/or the deleted scenes. It's not as if the length of the movie prohibits the inclusion of extras. What would Replica or XPDVD have done?

- Alliance gets a 5 for being lazy.

- Movie gets a 6. It's okay but it will be completely forgotten in a year from now.

EDIT: Correction. It plays fine on the computer but when played on the standalone, it pauses slightly at every chapter point. This will likely be propered. There's an internal by XPDVD. Hope it reaches the masses.

freezes every scene change
and changing from scene 22 to 23 on standalone it glitches badly, doubt its my player, same thing happened to my friend

Posted by ILM on 06-02-2006 07:26 PM:

oh, and also after the credits it goes to the special features menu

Posted by cadillact on 06-02-2006 08:22 PM:

Well the alternate ending would have been a cool feature.

Cool enough to buy the retail dvd ?

As for replica not only are they good but they have brain on
what to keep/leave out.

if this is true.... do i smell a proper from one of the bigger groups...??

Posted by Eric10301 on 06-03-2006 08:03 AM:

Yeah this release if screwed up. It glitches alot during the last 5 minutes of the movie.

Posted by Tallguy on 06-03-2006 08:38 AM:

Could we get a Proper please ?

Posted by gibber9583 on 06-03-2006 02:33 PM:

you guys are really nitpicking on this release... it really doesnt need a proper...Extra's are really not necessary..It was a little lazy of them to not include them cause it would not have affected the bitrate all that much..... I am having no problems playing this release on both my standalone, PC, and X360. So for those people calling for a proper from XPDVD or Replica, its really not warranted.

anyways.... 8/8/?

16.Blocks.2006.NTSC.DVDR.iNTERNAL-XPDVD

I think I'll be grabbing this one. I enjoy Alt Endings

fixt the glitching, movie was ok.

7/8/6

Posted by coldconfessio on 06-04-2006 05:06 PM:

move played fine until the scene when jack(bruce) gets into the court house. I had glitches and freezing from there.

Posted by yiuloan on 06-04-2006 05:18 PM:

xpdvd-internal

yeah, this one is bad.

you can find the xpdvd torrent in TPB

Posted by ILM on 06-04-2006 05:58 PM:

XPDVD works fine, and when alliance's rip fucks up its on the part that you can switch from theatrical or alternate ending

Posted by hoozdapimp on 06-04-2006 07:36 PM:

Although I agree that this release needed a proper, I don't understand how all of you are saying that it was "lazy" of them not to include certain things....obviously you have no idea how to rip a dvd....it is much easier to keep things rather than rip them out (having to remove buttons, making sure the dvd structure stays ok, etc).

Posted by John Coltrane on 06-09-2006 03:39 AM:

yup hoozdapimp thats when a job is well done to the end, this is rarer and rarer in the scene today. most teams dont give a shit about unused buttons or the dvd structure.

well i havent seen this or tested it but never was big on ALLiANCE dvdr rels, they have a certain stink to them (maybe its me...but apart from the THEATRiCAL iNTERNAL of The Butterfly Effect I see no ALLiANCE release that is worthy of any sort of praise).

16.Blocks.2006.NTSC.DVDR.iNTERNAL-XPDVD seems like the way to go, as usual XPDVD saving the scene and me not being able to find their internal work.

Posted by FrightfoO on 06-09-2006 02:24 PM:

So, is this thing reencoded at all or Untouched main-movie-video-wise... because ALLiANCE certainly don't give many secrets away in their NFO.

Gonna watch it now to see how these glitches materiailise.
