Easy to install (but good) modchip for 360.

Know of any? My cousin would like to get one if it doesn't require too much (difficult) work (if they even exist).

not to sound like an asshole or anything but the second you put something on your xbox360, you will be banned for live. if this isn't an issue, I would probably recommend a firmware hack over a mod chip, but thats just my $0.02

I am well aware of that. I don't use Live.

I don't own an eggbox but I thought that it was reasonably "safe" to run burnt games so long as you have the latest !extreme firmware and run your games through xdvdmulleter to ensure they're properly "stealthed" ... Then again, this entire post could be a moist eggy fart.

Gay, yes he does. And that is the reason he will not be getting one. Unless he can get his old 360 back from his friend.

m$ are finding sneaky ways to detect backups

something to do with response times and blah blah

ixtreme say the only way to guarantee stealth is make a 1:1 backup YOURSELF

for the average 360 user its not possible because they dont make backups they d/l

I'm actually leaving mine unmodified and buying originals.

The reason is that I had so many damn games on the original xbox that I didn't play half of them (same with the DS)... and when I did play a game, if I got to a bit where I became bored or stuck I'd simply change games.

Now, with the 360, I'm motivated to play games through to the end and I actually look forward to buying new games (plus it gives my family something to get me for birthday/xmas), I don't have to worry about getting banned from Live and I have a few mates (honest) who also have 360s so we can swap games once we're done with them.

The response time in the jitter test was one that recently got a few people banned, with the 360 the response should be 359 or below I believe. Using backups there was an error (or oversight) in the iextreme firmware (v1.3 and below) that allowed the value 360 to be returned on infrequent occasions that could possibly have resulted in a banning.

Also the Stealth Sector information of one of the scene releases of COD4 was incorrect leading to an awful lot of people getting booted for that.

similar to what i said but with lots more bigger words

personally iv havent flashed because i like live tooo much more so than single player modes.

untill there is a 100% safe way to play online im stayin as i am

although i wouldn mind a cheap arcade pack for backups

You could play backups offline (making sure you remove the network cable, just because a game isn't live enabled doesn't mean the 360 isn't online) and originals online.

Currently all checks are done whilst online. There's no concrete proof they won't be done offline and stored however.

just been reading over at xbox scene and a new wave of banning again this weekend .

early reports are that consoles that have only ever ran retail software are getting banned and that the firmware itself is being detected

merry x-mas from m$ x x

This sounds like quite a good idea since they've dropped down to around £160.

Updates?

Any updates on the mod chips for 360. I really don't use live at all. But I'd like to get something that is easy to install, I guess if there is something that won't get me banned (if possible) that would be a plus.

Thanks

Just buy the damn game, If you wait a couple months you can get pretty much get the game 1/2 price. What's the bother with a mod chip?

Shit, I just bought a year of Live today. Hell I mainly buy used games, I purchased Soul Calibur IV full price, and the game before that I paid full price for was Soul Calibur 3, lol. yeah I've bought other games but not any new games. Always buy used unless it's a bad ass fighting game, or just a bad ass game.

Ohhh I kind of lied, I did buy God of War 2, well actually me and my buddy went halfsies on it, I paid $25 and he paid $25, So I didn't pay full price, lol.

I will buy Gears 2 the day of release, If Graw3 comes out that will be bought fo sho.

I modded my Xbox myself. Only certain drives need chips, mine luckily did not.

And Para, you're gay.
