Finally, I loved this movie and NEVER got to see it in the theatres around here, but I wanted to really bad...This definitely replaces my prior PROPER VideoCD release.. My only complaint is the video is NOt untouched..Otherwise its an excellent DVDR of a under appreciated film

Plays fine on my Toshiba and Pioneer, and even the X-Box.

Quality looks good on this, sound is good too.
The DTS Video, should of been removed, but apart from that, no major problems.

9/9/?

What's DTS Video? LoL! But anyhow....

DTS AUDIO is removed, and plays fine in all my players.

I meant the DTS-Logo Video (The Piano Thing) that comes on when you select DTS as your audio track.

They left it in, even though they took the DTS Audio out, its not a big thing, it just annoys me when you have to keep skipping stuff to get to the movie.

Some people might have problems with this release, it is the same situation as the Aura release of Around the World in 80 Days. Ifoedit shows the audio is unspecified in several ifos so may cause some players to crash.

great finally waited for retail to watch it hehehe cant wait me mates all said it was good show but never got round to grabbing ts at the time so this will do brilliant thanks Replica! mayb they could go bit further and get the features and all hahaha only jokin appreciate the release!

Quality is top notch .. wish Replica would release more DVDRs, but can't be complaining, it's all free. Movie is just classic .. funny, witty, and most of all .. original! Too bad the DTS was ripped..i'm still cool with 5.1 though.

Just a quick question. Does anyone know if the movie is supose to have text saying how much time is passing. Maybe I just didn't hear, or wasn't paying close enough attention to the time that was passing. Enjoyed the move, none the less, didn't expect too much, but was glad I watched it. Played just fine, like everything else, on my Pioneer 563A.

As for ratings

Great release! Pretty much perfect and definitely one for the collection. Going to buy this one though, well worth the money for this great movie. Spielberg and Hanks are always a great combo.

Anyways, video looked blurry to me though. Comparing it to other Dreamworks releases (1.85:1 retails of Catch Me If You Can, Almost Famous, American Beauty) I might have to say this is the work of downsampling. Even the intro Dreamworks trailer (kid fishing from moon) looked blurry (1.8mbit/sec during it). But this is probably due to the crazy amount of detail in the backgrounds. Bit rates spike in some cases from 1.2mbit/sec to 8mbit/sec.

7/10 Video - Watched the movie twice and examined individual scenes. It being a 2h09min movie, plus 1.85:1 AR, plus with all that background detail, more is happening in this movie than most action movies. Too much movie for a petite DVD-R.

9.5/10 DVD-R - Great job Replica. They did the best they could with the 4.38gigs they had. Only change I would have done is removing all the little side videos (only 62MBs), but that is very minor. Pick this up! Good movie too!

Watching this one tonight.

From sample, quality looks superb (as always from Replica)

I had mixed thoughts on this movie, it wasn't the kind of movie i wanted to see at the cinema, however, i did not want to watch less than a DVD quality release.

Again, Thanks replica - rating coming asap

fix?

Anyone know if it is possible to fix the problem with this DVD not playing properly?

Im guessing it involves rebuilding it with ifo edit or something?

When I play it in my dvd player it constantly skips and freezes. Works fine on the computer though.

Thanks

Only just got round to seeing this film myself - very good quality and played ok on my players - Cyberhome and Aiwa cheapo thingy.
Excellent movie, just can't help feeling sorry for the character Hanks plays.
