picture is to dark and grainy, it also looks over cropped.

It is a TC, but a pretty poor one.

5.?.?

( i give the audio a ? cos i previewed a few rars with VLC and only got the picture, which was poor enough for me not to care about getting sound to work)

Nicer picture than the Screener. Video is still dark. I know its a dark movie, but many of the indoor scenes have people's clothing just blending into the dark background. Its is a typical crop job by NBP. Its very widescreen. Sound is good, and movie is excellent. I still stand by my statement for them to release a Director's cut with 5 additional hours.

CATBOX

7 Dark, and overcropped, but very watchable
8 Very similiar to the screener
9 great, but needs to be way longer

Posted by Striped on 01-12-2006 04:58 PM:

Way too dark (opening scene is virtually unwatchable) , i'd rather watch the screener than this.

best just to wait for now, a dvdscr is probably just around the corner what with it being oscar season and all

from sample:

v 7.5 (way too dark, pointless if you have maven's ts or the screener)

a 8.5 (good)

m ? (dunno yet)

thanks NBP but im gonna pass

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

Where there's a vhs screener there surely must be a dvdscr. hurry up you oscar judge mofo's and release a good copy.
not the best TC about 7:7:9

Posted by zerobyte on 01-12-2006 08:24 PM:

NBP could have presented this svcd encode of the tc much better. As is, in my opinion it's a borderline average tc. The ASTEROiDS rls however was packed more properly but despite those improvements and having previewed this release for aprox 20 minutes and while comparing it scene to scene with the mvn ts I can say that for my self the qualitive differences between the two arent worth downloading the tc. In agreement with most of the others who have commented thus far, dvdscr is just around the corner and unless your one of those people who absolutely must have every rls - just wait.

Posted by UrbanSmurf on 01-13-2006 01:10 AM:

way way to dark, better quality picture than the screener but at least the screener you can see

v 5
s 8

poor tc

Posted by thredworm on 01-13-2006 02:51 AM:

This is probably the darkest source I have ever seen. Practically unwatchable as most of the key scenes in the movie are at night.

Grainy aswell, although the sound is very nice.

Never heard of Tarru Notter either.....

V:7 Dark but nice colors Definitey better than TS MaVen

A; 8.5 Nice and Clean.Full Bass. Out of Sync a bit.

M: 8.5 Best of the Four so Far

Congrats to NBP and ASTEROiDS/Royal on a NOBLE effort. Some People appreciate your quality TC!!

FYI: A 2 CD iNTERNAL was PRED for those who care bout bitrate issue!!

Nice release for a TC. Scene NUKE for TC can't be released after a Screener even though this is better quality should be reversed.
V8 A-8 M-9

BTW the retail will hit real soon. Just announced March 6th DVD date. This movie surpassed all expectations at the boxoffice. Almost $900,000,000 worldwide so far and still going strong.

SCENE Nuke for NO TC after SCREENER was sheep as well FYI. Rules state no TC after DVDSCR but certainly NOT craptacular blocky vhs screeners.
