OMG. THANK YOU.

100000000000X BETTER THEN THAT DREAMLIGHT TRASH!

grain is gone...nice rip..

9/9/100000000000000

Posted by ILM on 02-11-2007 05:39 AM:

thats sarcasm right?
same source as dreamlight and curiousjotos
grainy r1 dvd
you can see it on rar 5
also menu was like 5 mbs or something like that, stripping 2 mbs of menus is useless imo

also using dvd rebuilder doesnt make it better plus bitrate is wrong, its not 4398, its 3518

from rar 4 and 5

WOW This has to be the best rip I have ever seen in my life. Man I hope they proper every movie made with there l33t encoding skills. Man this rip makes the dvd9 look bad. This must be a Bluray source or they filmed it themselves. Keep up the great work.

11/11/10

Had to give video and audio an 11 do to this being such a l33t rip.

This is very good movie. The original is better, it is a 100 % remake of a Chinese movie called Infernal Affairs also known as Mou gaan dou - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/

I almost agree... But I would have given the video 8.1326 and the audio 8.4115

The movie deserved a 1.028*pi^2...

Does anyone know if this has been Nuked??

I have seen it tagged as nuked on a couple of sites.

Labeled as this,
[NUKED]The.Departed.2006.READNFO.R1.NTSC.DVDR-XanaX[1.click.app.and.invalid.proper]

Just curious?

If you got the DVD9 already, burn it... Long 2h30min movie... You really need all the help you can get with the bitrate. I personally wasn't even all that impressed with the DVD9, so anything less would be detrimental.

DL discs are now $1 on sale. Mind as well live a little Or, buy it for $20. You're still getting a good deal on a good movie at $1.

But I did check this release out, it's not bad. Don't know about the nuke stuff myself, I saw it floating around without any tags of "nuked", but I didn't pay attention too closely either. I'll probably end up buying it used from Blockbuster myself. Good movie.

Video quality is same as the other release, not to mention they used DVDrebuilder to make it... big no-no and that's why it was nuked. It gave them a false read on the bitrate, it is more along the lines of 3400. If you have the DREAMLIGHT one keep it, if not buy it in the store or get the DVD9 from CJ.

Video: 7
Audio: 9 (can't really screw up DD 5.1 transfer)
Movie: 10 (A must see)

Posted by gibber9583 on 02-13-2007 10:05 PM:

yeah, agreed. this is pretty much the same as the other release imho. Viewed both upscaled to 720p on my Denon and looks pretty much the same. The DVD9 source isnt spectacular to begin with, i'd suggest burning that obviously. Either DVD5 is good. No need to waste creds on this one if you already got the other!

V: 7
A: 10(great track)

Using DVDRebuilder is a big no-no? What are you supposed to use?

DVD Rebuilder isnt really a No-No as such, most use it, just they don't advertise the fact, plus some people believe you have to go the hard and long way, even though it gives you no benefit quality wise.

Also the bitrate from DVD Rebuilder isnt wrong, the NFO states typical bitrate of 3518kbps.

I wish more groups used DVD ReBuilder, and DVD Remake, assthere would be alot less fuck ups, as there are only 1-2 groups who can be consistent using manual tools.

As for this, absolutely pointless.
My mate received the Region3 DTS DVD today, that should be done, not another Region1 Clone

Many will say "The Big 3 Method" but DVD-RB works just as well and is a LOT easier. Some will claim there's a visual difference but its BS.

is it just me or is this dvd almost impossible to play,

3 dvd players later it finally played on my RW dvd player going to try to rebuild now but the picture was great

8.5/9/9

No problems with the video for me - especially as it is a very long film. Played fine on 4 DVD players in my house. Great release - Thanks.

Impossible to play

Impossible to play. It wouldn't play with Windows Media. It wouldn't play with Nero on the computer. Wouldn't play with the hmoe theater dvd player. Hangs right from the start.
3 coasters later I finally made it work by using decrypter on the first coaster to get the main movie files...then used nero to Make My Own DVD which is like making a home movie.

Picture quality is terrible.
Had to downmix to stereo. Audio is terrible.
