It means exactly what it says on the tin.

The BIOS is looking for a bootable disk on the SCSI channel. If you normally boot from a SCSI HDD it means either the HDD is fucked (you'll need to shove another HDD up the computer) or its connection has come loose (you'll need to plug the fucker back in).

If you haven't got a SCSI HDD then the boot sequence in the bios must've changed. Go into the bios and choose whatever boot device you want to use (normally an IDE channel if you're not using SCSI). The option is usually in "Advanced BIOS Settings or some such, and it often has 2 or 3 boot devices that it will try to use in order. Make the 1st one your boot device of choice.

I doubt you seriously have to go that extreme. Just sounds like a corrupted first sector of the hard drive of the master boot record. Google "restoring the master boot record" and I'm sure you'll find tools for it (most of which you can also find on your operating systems startup disk).

you and punzada - at least someone is trying to help...

i'd be willing to bet you're not using a SCSI drive, mostly because you sound like you don't know much about PCs - this means you are most likely using Windows and %99.999 of Windows PCs don't use SCSI drives. See, you can't intermix SCSI and IDE and IDE is much cheaper to manufacture. this leads me to believe you are using a standard mobo running 1 IDE hdd and 1 IDE cd/dvd rom/burner.

in your case, the bios is the best place to start. when you first boot your PC, it'll tell you how to access it (most of the time, you have to hit "del" or "f2" or "f12") and then you can find the place to change the boot sequence from SCSI to HDD0 or IDE HDD (depending on your bios). if you still need help after that, we will need to know more about the bios ver and the hardware inside the PC. you managed to take a pic of that AMD so maybe you can post a pic of this one too?

Do you have two hards disks in there? I'm guessing the wrong one is set to boot... Otherwise, your drive is corrupt.

You probably have a "Boot sequence" or similar in your BIOS... You should be able to specify which HD to boot from in there.

ok, so we do know that you have 2 hard drives installed, but that's about all we know.

1. were you able to change the boot sequence in your bios?

2. did you check the jumper setting on you hard drive?

3. did you already remove one drive and try booting again?

4. is it possible to see a picture of the error that says "press shift+tab"?

5. what were you doing when this first started? like were you using the PC and it blue-screened, never to return to normal or did you just shut it down one day and the next day it was doing this?

i know we can find a solution, but we need your help with the specifics of this particular situation.
