Fabolous, Street Dreams

Ok I was never a fan of Fabulous, but this album really changed my opinion of him.

First thing I noticed was, his exceptional flow. He hardly ever "chops" up his verses, and they always go so smoothly.

Also seems very talented in changing his moods. He really uses voice and expressions properly, though he's very subtle with it. I wish he'd be a bit bolder, or make his tone shift a bit more spontaneous rather than so gradual but hey he's definitely improving.

The beats are great, to my surprise. I really like the variety of them, and the calm beats in particular make this album special. While he tries to mantain a "gangsta" image, he also goes soft a lot, and it adds for a lot of diversity and creativity.

Lyrically, what can I say other than I am amazed. My favorite song is oddly enough the single, Can't Let you Go. I'm usually not a big afn of singles but this song certainly shines and shows him at his peak.

Other songs to look out for are "This is my party," and "Into you"
I've not listened TOO much to this album so I don't want to get into a very extensive review but I will add more comments in time. Ashantis verse isn't good in "Into you", and due to this and most of her recent songs I've changed my opinion of her from decent to sucky. :} We'll see though.

Ooh How can I forget "Not Give a f**k." Another hot track.

All in all this album comes out as a pleasant surprise, and while it doesn't go down in the books, it does deserve a credible rating and Fab should be respected for the talent he's shown, and hard work he threw into this piece.

Yeah I downloaded this and like it alot. I think Fabolous is pretty good. He needs to be arrested or something (a thing I have.. get shot or arrested they are almost automatically good). LOL. But yeah nice album.
