fao networking bods

ill try and make it short,

current setup:

xbox into router.
pc into router.

download movie from ssl encrypted ftp server onto pc.

browse network shares from xbox, stream movie into tv.

---

but would it be possible to do this?:

install some kind of ftp client on xbox that supports ssl encrypted ftp servers.

connect to ftp from xbox

stream movie directly into tv from said ftp server.

?

---

am i right in thinking the only obstacle is finding an ftp client for the xbox that supports ssl?

anyone done this before?

im all excited

it appears that in order to take advantage of the xbox' streaming capability then you MUST use the ftp client built it.

which would require a knowledge of C programming language in order to make SSL sites browsable.

so its a no go for me... until i can be arsed to teach myself C.

it would possibly be the best thing in the world though... terabytes and terabytes of remote video all accessible directly, without waiting for it to download and without moving from the sofa.
